The new 5G standard for mobile Internet is expected to impress above all with low latencies, low energy requirements and high bandwidth. These come about through so-called slices, which are used depending on quality requirements. Although the 5G standard is still partly in the planning stage, it is already being offered by some mobile communications providers - at the moment, however, more as a 5G NR standard. This means it still requires a parallel LTE carrier to receive the signals properly in the network. So it is possible to already offer higher data rates, but without the additional benefits of slices.
