iPhone X: Delete all photos - here's how to do it

If the storage of your iPhone X is full, you can delete some photos on the device. Images often take up the most storage space. Apple does not provide a feature to delete the entire photo storage at one time. However, there are ways to quickly remove the pictures anyway.

How to delete pictures from your iPhone X

If you want to delete all the pictures on your iPhone X, you have to do it via the "Photos" app. Follow these steps to do so:
  1. Open the Photos app and switch to the Albums view.
  2. Select the "Shots" album there.
  3. Tap "Select" in the top right corner. You must now select all the images that you want to delete. The fastest way to do this is to simply swipe your finger over them. Selected images are marked with a blue tick.
  4. To delete the selected images now, tap the trash can icon in the bottom right corner.
  5. Finally, you need to confirm the deletion of the images.

Delete photos permanently

The photos are initially only moved to the trash. This can be found if you scroll all the way down in the "Albums" tab in the Photos app and tap on "Recently deleted". To delete the images permanently, tap "Select" in the upper right corner and then "Delete all" in the lower left corner. Depending on how many pictures you delete, this process may take a while. If you don't want to lose the pictures, create a backup or transfer them to the iCloud.
