Android: Photos with self-timer - how it works

A selfie is not the only option to take photos without help. Android smartphones also have a selfie function. We explain how you can use it.

Automatic timing: the Android self-timer is quickly set.

Photos are more important and popular than ever in the mobile age. Functions such as a self-timer are therefore a matter of course and must be easy to use.

Android: How the self-timer works so straightforwardly

The self-timer is built into Android smartphones as a timer.
  1. This is deactivated by default, which you can see at the top of the camera view as a clock icon with the info "Off". Tap on it to see the options.
  2. You can now set a timer of 2, 5 or 10 seconds.
The next time you trigger the photo button, the timer is already active - consequently, the picture will not be taken immediately, but only after the selected period of time. To take photos directly again, you need to set the setting back to "Off".
