Google Photos - Download images: how to do it

If you store your files in Google Drive, you can of course download your photos and images via Google. In doing so, you have the option of either saving all of your photos and images at once or individually to your computer. In addition, the files can also be moved to another Google account.

How to download your photos and images in Google

Have you saved your photos and images in Google or have you synced your smartphone with Google Photos, the images can be easily downloaded again:
  1. To do this, open Google Photos in your browser with your Google account. Alternatively, open the Google Photos app on your smartphone.
  2. Select the photo you want to save to your computer and click the three-dot "More" icon. Then click "Download".

Step 2: Click on the three-dot icon "More" and then on "Download".

  3. Hold the mouse pointer over an image in the overview, you can select it. If you select more than one, you can click on the menu icon in the upper right corner and download many images at once.

Step 3: Multiple images can also be selected and downloaded at the same time.

If you have already saved the photo on your computer, this option will not appear. Note that this option will only appear on your smartphone if the image or video has not already been saved to the device.

Download all photos and images at once

For example, if you want to create another backup of all your images, download all files at once:
  1. To do this, first call Google Data Export.
  2. Click on "Select desired files" and then on "Deselect".
  3. Now mark "Google Photos" with a check mark.
  4. Go to the next step and decide on "Export once".
  5. Finally click on "Create export" to download all photos.
