Google: Change name - edit your user data

How to change the name of your Google account

Your username and a password give you access to many Google services, such as Calendar or Google Drive. However, if you want to change your username, then this is also possible as long as you have access to your account.

1. Go to Google on your computer and log in there with your current user data.
2. Then click on your user account at the top right and on the "Google Account" button.
3. Here you can now click on "Name" > "Edit" under "Personal Data". You also have the option to change all the details about yourself, such as date of birth, gender or the like.
4. Follow the instructions to change your username.
5. Using an Android device, open the app and click on the "cog" icon.
6. Then go to "Google" > "Google Account" > "Personal Data" > "Profile" > "Name".

8. If you are using an iPhone or iPad, the change is made via the Gmail app.
