Kindle: What is PageFlip? We explain the feature - all info
The choice among eBook readers continues to grow; all the more important are individual features to stand out from the competition. PageFlip, which is available exclusively on Kindle devices, is considered one such feature.
One of the few disadvantages of eBooks compared to physical books is the somewhat more cumbersome navigation, page turning and jumping in the document. This is where PageFlip comes in.Kindle: PageFlip for better navigation
Every reader knows it: sometimes a quick glance at the table of contents would be interesting, or perhaps at a map located at the very beginning of the book. However, returning to the current reading location is not always convenient with eBooks.PageFlip was introduced in 2016 for the Kindle family to change that:- Thanks to PageFlip, the device remembers where you last read without you having to bookmark it separately.
- A reference to the current page remains at the edge of the screen, so that you can return there at any time with a finger gesture.
- Among the other functions of PageFlip is the bird's eye view, with which you get several pages (each reduced) simultaneously shown on the display. This gives you an overview, which is suitable, for example, to search for a specific location.
- Also handy: by opening the menu at the top, you can tap on a preview icon at the bottom. Thereupon you can flip through any pages in a kind of overlay, while your current page remains firmly in the background.
