Windows 10: Installing fonts - how to do it

If you want to change the design of Windows 10, you have numerous options. Various themes and fonts are already available to you in advance. However, if you don't find the right one, you can download additional fonts online and then install them on your system.

How to install fonts on Windows 10

If you don't find the right font among the pre-installed fonts for Windows 10, you can search for others online and install them afterwards. Here you have a large selection of free fonts.

1. Select a font from a website of your choice and download it.
2. Then double-click the left mouse button on the downloaded ".tff" file.
3. Now you see your selected font and above it two buttons - "Print" and "Install".
4. Click "Install" here.
5. The font has been installed and is ready to use.
6. If you would like to manage your fonts, go to the Control Panel on your computer.
7. Select the "Appearance and Customization" option and then click "Fonts". Now you will see all installed fonts and if necessary you can remove them with a right click and "Delete".
8. Note that you can only use these fonts in programs like Word or PowerPoint. For your desktop design, setting a different font is not possible. However, you can adjust the size and make it bold.
