Quanto costa l'IPTV pirata, come funziona, cosa trasmette e dove trovarla: ecco cosa devi sapere sul "pezzotto" e quali sono i rischi penali e civili per chi si abbona.
La lotta tra guardie e ladri nel mondo delle IPTV illegali continua senza sosta: sempre più piattaforme per lo streaming illegale dei contenuti (il cosiddetto “pezzotto“) vengono messe in piedi e sempre di più ne vengono scoperte dalle Forze dell’Ordine.
L’ultima operazione, messa a segno dalla Guardia di Finanza, è stata ribattezzata “The Net" e ha portato al sequestro di un grosso network di IPTV illegali, con un centinaio di piattaforme e oltre 50.000 clienti in tutta Italia. Alcune di queste piattaforme sono state oscurate, altre sono ancora online come Webnet, una IPTV che trasmette film, serie TV e partite pirata. Webnet è l’esempio di un sistema parecchio sofisticato, che permette agli utenti di diventare persino rivenditori del servizio tramite un sistema di crediti. E, soprattutto, un sistema che funziona quasi alla luce del sole tramite un apposito sito di vendita degli abbonamenti mensili, trimestrali o annuali, anche multidispositivo, con prezzi via via più vantaggiosi.
La rete Webnet
Webnet è una delle sottoreti del network scoperto dalle Fiamme Gialle, dietro il quale secondo il Nucleo di Polizia Economico-Finanziaria di Milano c’è “un’articolata organizzazione, operante in diverse regioni del territorio nazionale, dedita alla vendita e distribuzione di dispositivi di decodificazione idonei a permettere l’accesso al servizio criptato IPTV per fruire di contenuti televisivi, senza il pagamento del canone dovuto“.
Tutto ruota intorno ad un sito di vendita di abbonamenti con prezzi a partire da 10 euro al mese, con i quali si ottiene l’accesso a oltre 5.000 canali televisivi, compresi quelli di Sky e Sky Sport, 40.000 film on demand e si ha persino un supporto di livello “premium“.
C’è anche la possibilità di risparmiare ulteriormente sul pezzotto, stipulando abbonamenti annuali da 85 euro, o 150 euro per 14 mesi con la possibilità di vedere la TV pirata su due dispositivi contemporaneamente. Un abbonamento alla Netflix, per capirci, ma illegale.
Flusso criptato
La registrazione al servizio di Webnet è anonima e il flusso dati è criptato a 256 bit. On the Webnet website it is specified that "Fields can be filled in anonymously, only the email address must be real, in order to validate the registration".
The cryptography applied to the IPTV stream is then decrypted at the user's home through a special decoder, which is sent to the subscriber's home and on which the assistance is guaranteed H24, seven days a week.
Wannabe users of this platform can pay with PayPal, credit cards or BitCoin, and the site strongly recommends this last option, to protect even more the anonymity.
What are the risks for the users of Webnet and other sub-networks
The Guardia di Finanza has identified three of the managers of this network, denouncing them for violation of Art. 171 ter of the law on copyright protection. Now they risk from one to three years of imprisonment.
But making a quick calculation (taking as an example the prices of Webnet subscriptions) the network of platforms identified, which according to the Guardia di Finanza serves at least 50,000 users, can generate up to half a million per month of illegal turnover. It is easy to understand why pirates are willing to risk jail.
The situation is quite different if we look at the users of pirate services: for them the law provides a fine from 2.582 to 25.822 euros and a criminal sentence from six months to three years of imprisonment.
In this specific case, moreover, given the system set up by the hackers (especially the methods of payment and registration to the platform), although the site guarantees anonymity those who have paid to watch movies and soccer matches illegally are almost certainly traceable.
Credit card and PayPal payments are certainly traceable, those with BitCoin are instead more difficult to reconstruct. Whoever has used one of the subnets of this pirate network, therefore, should not sleep peacefully: The Net operation is not over at all.
