To this feature the Oukitel WP15 also adds a battery 3-4 times larger than a normal smartphone, with a fairly fast charging, and a price all in all even low considering that it is a device certified even IP69K: not only is it resistant to dust and water immersion, but it tolerates even high-pressure water spray and steam. In fact, the Chinese price of Oukitel WP15 has been set in
299.99 dollars.
Oukitel WP15: technical specifications
Oukitel WP15 is a low to mid-range smartphone, as indeed many other rugged ones: for the purposes for which it is intended, in fact, you do not need great power but very high reliability. The main chip is the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G, flanked by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
The display is 6.52 inches and the rear camera compartment includes three sensors, with the main one of 48 MP. The phone can be unlocked with both fingerprint and face, which is very important in contexts where it is mandatory to wear gloves.
There is also NFC compatible with Google Pay for contactless payments and a full-bodied satellite section: GPS, Glonass, Beidou and Galileo. All well protected from dust, water and shock, so much so that there are IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810G certifications (which, among other things, means that the phone works from -20 to +55 degrees Celsius temperature).
Oukitel WP15: the super battery
But let's come to the main feature of Oukitel WP15: the battery. It is a huge 15,600 mAh accumulator (charging up to 18 Watts), which is an incredible value if we consider that most modern smartphones have 4-5,000 mAh batteries.
Thanks to this battery Oukitel WP15 can stay on standby for 1,300 hours, which is more than 54 days, and can stay on call for 90 hours, which is more than 3 and a half days. This rugged smartphone, therefore, is great for use in extreme conditions, in places where there is not even a power outlet available to charge the battery.
Oukitel does not declare the weight of the device, but it will clearly be very high: a 15,000 mAh powerbank in fact weighs on average about 300 grams, so hardly Oukitel WP15 will weigh less than 4-500 grams.
