Motorola prepares the international launch of Moto G100: the new top of the range is the international version of the Edge S sold in China.
With Moto G100 Motorola offers its fans a new top of the range model. After debuting in China earlier this year under the name Motorola Edge S, the manufacturer launches the global version with a few minor changes that make it even more complete and technologically interesting than its predecessor.
To anticipate the launch of the new smartphone, Motorola launched a dedicated teaser video at the beginning of March in anticipation of what will be the presentation event, set in calendar for next March 25. In just a few days, therefore, it will be possible to have a complete overview of all the specifications that will characterize the new version of the long-awaited phone, of which some design details have already been revealed through the images spread on Twitter by the leakers Evleaks and Evan Blass. It is a clean line with minimalist shell, to which is added the double punch-hole at the top of the screen; on the back, however, the quadruple camera module is placed in the upper left area.
Moto G100, probable technical characteristics
At the center of Moto G100 is the SoC Snapdragon 870, the octa-core also shown in the teaser of early March and the only information so far confirmed from the technical point of view. To this, you should add the two RAM sizes, 8GB and 12GB, along with 256GB of storage expandable up to 1TB via microSD memory card.
For the screen, however, Motorola's choice should have fallen on a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate. Equipped with 5G connectivity, the smartphone will most likely be powered by a 5000mAh battery, with support for 20W fast charging. The operating system present on the device, however, is Android 11.
From a photo/video perspective, the rear module is based on a four-sensor system, with the first one 64MP and equipped with f/1.7 aperture lens, second 16MP and ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP depth sensor and an additional ToF sensor. On the front, however, a dual cam with 16MP and 8MP wide-angle sensor and 100° view.
Given IP52 certification, Moto G100 is dual SIM and has a fingerprint reader on the side of the body, replacing the inefficient ultrasonic sensor under the screen present on the Edge already on sale in Europe. There should also be no lack of 3.5mm minijack connector, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, NFC reader and USB Type-C cable slot.
Unlike its counterpart for the Chinese market, the new Motorola Moto G100 should also adopt a button dedicated to Google Assistant, as well as the Desktop mode that will allow the smartphone to talk better when connected to a computer with monitor.
Moto G100, colors and price
Although from the renderings spread on the network appears in Ocean coloration, a light and vibrant blue characteristic of the Motorola style, the smartphone should also be available in the Silver version (Silver). Nothing to do instead on the price, for which we must wait until next March 25.
