In the plans of the Finnish company there is also the release of the Nokia 10, a top-of-the-line smartphone that will see the light after the summer
Nokia and HMD Global are working on smartphones to be released in 2018. After the "debut" last year at Mobile World Congress 2017, the two companies are ready to continue the partnership to win new users and nibble market share from competitors.
After already presenting the Nokia 6 (2018), the Finnish company is working on the Nokia 8 (2018) and Nokia 9. The two devices should see the light of day by the end of January or at the latest at Mobile World Congress 2018 (where HMD Global has already confirmed its presence). Rumors coming from China also confirm the arrival of a new device: the Nokia 10. So far there had been talk of the possibility of a top-of-the-line release for the second half of the year, but there had never been any confirmation about it. The Nokia 10 should be a top of the range phone with unique features, especially with regard to the photographic compartment: in the back should find place five lenses.
The characteristics of the Nokia 10
From the rumors coming from China, the Nokia 10 will have a particular photographic compartment composed of five lenses patented in recent months by Carl Zeiss, the German company that also produced the photo sensors of the Nokia 8. The design of the smartphone should be similar to that of the Lumia 1020, a phone released in 2013 that mounted in the rear a 41 Megapixel photo sensor. The Nokia 10 should have a kind of circular bump in the back with seven holes: two for the LED flash and five for the photo sensors.
Being a top of the range, the hardware compartment should consist of a Snapdragon 845 chipset and at least 6GB of RAM. But as of now, there is no news about it. The screen will have an aspect ratio of 18:9, while the bezels will be very thin. The back cover will be made entirely of glass and should support wireless charging.
When the Nokia 10 comes out
The Finnish company's smartphone is expected to debut in the second half of 2018. It could be unveiled at IFA 2018 (an event dedicated to technology that takes place in late August in Berlin), or in September 2018. We will definitely know more in the coming weeks.
