The Redmi 9 has also landed in Europe at a low price: less than 200 euros. On board the Helio G80 chipset with 4GB of RAM. The rear cameras are four
The Redmi 9 by Xiaomi has finally arrived in Europe, but not yet in Italy: the Chinese giant has in fact presented it at the moment only in Spain. But this still gives us hope for a quick arrival in our market and, above all, allows us to know the official data sheet and the final price.
It is in fact a low-end device, but good features thanks to a mid-range CPU, with a starting price below 150 euros and a large capacity battery. Detail not coincidental, given that smartphones in this price range are intended primarily for younger customers and who use the device for several hours a day. Battery aside, the features of the Redmi 9 are perfectly in the average of low-cost 2020 smartphones and, of course, there is no 5G connection that will not be a standard in this price range before mid-2021.
Redmi 9: technical characteristics
The Redmi 9 from Xiaomi is a device with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD screen, FHD+ resolution (2,340×1,080 pixels), 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The SoC chosen for the Redmi 9 is the MediaTek Helio G80 with Mali-G52 GPU, the RAM is 3 or 4 GB while the ROM is 32 or 64 GB (expandable with microSD). The G80 is the mid-range CPU presented by MediaTek in February 2020 and is based on two ARM Cortex-A75 cores at 2 GHz and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores at 1.88 GHz.
The smartphone has four rear cameras: main 13 MP, wide-angle 8 MP, macro 5 MP and depth sensor 2 MP. The front selfie camera, on the other hand, is 8 MP. The battery is the highlight: 5,020 mAh capacity and fast charging at 18 Watts (with USB-C connector). Good connections as well, among which there is no shortage of Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5 and even the NFC module. The fingerprint reader, finally, is located at the back.
Redmi 9: how much does it cost and when does it arrive
The launch price of the Redmi 9 is very good: 139 euros for the 3/32 GB model and 169€ for the 4/64 GB model for those who pre-order them now. Later, the two variants will cost 149 euros and 179 euros, respectively. As mentioned, at the moment availability is limited to the Spanish market, where preorders have already been opened, but it is very likely that by the summer this low-end device will be put on sale by Xiaomi also in the Italian market and other European markets.
