The Chinese company Xiaomi has launched its two new smartphones based on Android One operating system and reasonably priced, here's how they are
In an event held in Madrid, Xiaomi presented the last two smartphones that came out of its cylinder: the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the Mi A2 Lite. For the Asian manufacturer, recently arrived in Italy with a store in Milan, this is the second attempt, after Mi A1, with a phone based on Android One.
For those who do not know Android One is the "stock" version of the operating system of the green robot, the same used by the Pixel and without any graphic customization. Added to this is the ability to get updates faster: this translates into a more secure smartphone and protected from various flaws and bugs. Xiaomi has worked closely with Google to create the new Mi A2 series and it's no coincidence that both the lite and "standard" versions have a reserved space on Google Photos at maximum quality. A much appreciated addition for photography lovers.
Xiaomi Mi A2: technical specifications
The Xiaomi Mi A2 has a 5.99-inch display with FullHD+ (2160 x 1080) resolution, which will be protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5. The body of the Xiaomi Mi A2 will be made entirely of aluminum for a thickness of 7.3mm and 166g in weight. On board the new smartphone from the Chinese company we find chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 equipped with AI Engine and supported by 4 or 6GB of RAM depending on the model we will buy. There are instead three options for the internal memory: 32, 64 or 128GB non-expandable. There is no 3.5mm audio jack but there is a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device. The autonomy is quite good thanks to the 3010mAh battery.
Xiaomi Mi A2: photo compartment
The Xiaomi Mi A2 has a dual rear cameras one 12-megapixel with focal aperture 1.75 supported by a second sensor of 20 megapixels that is able to take good pictures even in poor light conditions. In the front instead we find a 20-megapixel sensor equipped with flash for selfies and optimized for portrait and bokeh modes.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is slightly smaller having a 5.8-inch screen with resolution in FHD+ (2280×1080). On board we find the Snapdragon 625 processor with 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage expandable via microSD. The battery is 4000mAh and the device is dual SIM. Also in this model we find a dual rear camera, with a 12-megapixel sensor supported by another 5-megapixel. In the front instead single 5-megapixel sensor.
Xiaomi Mi A2 and Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite: availability and price in Italy
In Italy, the two new models of Xiaomi smartphones will arrive from August 8, 2018. Both the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the Mi A2 Lite will arrive in three colors: gold, black and blue. As for prices, the Lite model will cost 179 euros in the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant, while 299 euros for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version. As for the Xiaomi Mi A2 there are three different prices as well as the three different variants of internal memory: starting at 249 euros for the version with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, then 279 euros for the variant 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and finally 349 euros for the version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory.
