Sony presented at IFA 2018 in Berlin its new top-of-the-line smartphone, the Xperia XZ3. In terms of design, the Japanese company does not change: usual generous size and very angular shapes. Definitely more interesting is the 6-inch OLED screen and QHD+ resolution.
The display will be the real strength of this new Android smartphone. Aspect ratio 18:9 (like all top of the range released in recent months) which allows you to see the content on the screen at its best even if there is no lack of fairly thick bezels both above and below the display. The side edges are tilted and interactive thanks to the Side Sense function, as already seen for example on the Samsung Galaxy in recent years. On the other hand, the screen is equipped with Triluminos technology, for Full HD colors always realistic, and X-Reality technology that reconstructs images to make them look even better. These are tools that Sony uses on its top of the range televisions and that we will now also see on a smartphone.
Sony Xperia XZ3: technical specifications
We have seen so far the screen, the flagship of this Sony Xperia XZ3, but also under the shell we find interesting features. On all the high-performance processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 845 with support 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, expandable via microSD. The battery on the other hand is 3,300mAh and supports USB Power Delivery fast charging. The phone has IP68 rating that certifies resistena water and dust and there is a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back of the device. Sony's new top-of-the-line phone will run Android 9.0 Pie.

Great attention is also paid to the photo compartment. The main rear sensor boasts 19 megapixels, 2.0 focal aperture, laser AF and records slow motion video at 1080p resolution at 960 frames per second and 4K HDR movies. Also among the new features is the BIONZ processing algorithm that automatically enhances our photos. In front we find a 13-megapixel camera for selfies with autofocus and focal aperture 1.9.
Sony Xperia XZ3: availability and prices
The flagship smartphone Sony will be released on the market in early October in the four colors Black, White Silver, Bordeaux and Forest Green. There is still no official price because Sony in Berlin during the IFA has not dissolved the reserves on this aspect, rumors however speak of a figure between 750 and 800 euros.
