The fourth season of the TV series promises to be one of the most interesting of the entire cycle: at the center of the sad fairy tale between Charles and Lady D, but not only. Here are the details
We all know the story between Princess Diana and Prince Charles: it began as a beautiful love story, but soon revealed its shadows, until it ended with a tragic ending. Around this sad tale still hover many mysteries, able to intrigue and excite the audience. The Crown 4, coming next month on Netflix, will allow to deepen it and know the most controversial nuances.
The streaming platform has in fact revealed that the fourth season of the show will focus on the figure of Lady Diana and her stormy relationship with Prince Charles and the rules of the palace. Against the backdrop of a nation affected by profound changes and a Queen committed to finding for his son an appropriate wife, capable of maintaining the line of succession. From the first information released by Netflix, all these elements are clear and reveal that the fourth chapter will be one of the most interesting of the entire saga.
The Crown 4: Emma Corrin will be Lady Diana
Fans of the TV series on the British Royal Family are anxiously waiting: in a month will finally be released the fourth chapter, the most anticipated and on which the platform bets more. The reason is now clear, the main plot will revolve around the difficult story of Princess Diana and Prince Charles.
For the two roles have been chosen two actors of enormous talent. Prince Charles will be played by Josh O'Connor, while the role of the princess has been entrusted to Emma Corrin, who is perfectly at ease in the role of Lady D.
This is demonstrated by some photographs released in recent weeks that portray her on the set. In particular, the image in which she wears the wedding dress identical to that of the Princess has aroused emotions: sumptuous, memorable but at the same time a bit 'out of the box.
The actress in an interview has released some details on the interpretation: "I have always seen Diana as an icon, but to play her I focused on her humanity, her mystery".
The Princess of Wales will be told also the most private and intimate aspects, often hidden by the Royal House. Among these, bulimia: "I wanted to show that aspect with great honesty," Corrin revealed.
The aim will be to tell in a complete way the complex personality of Diana Spencer and all the difficulties she faced, first of all her story with Prince Charles.
The Crown 4: the sad tale of Charles and Diana
It's clear, therefore, that we are not in front of a story all roses and flowers, indeed. The tones of the video are ambiguous, dark and reminiscent of a thriller rather than a love story. The images are those of the wedding between Prince Charles and Princess Diana, but the voiceover is anything but reassuring and says:
"This is the stuff fairy tales are made of: a prince and a princess on their wedding day. But fairy tales usually end at this point, with the simple phrase 'They lived happily ever after.' When husband and wife keep their vows, loving and cherishing each other - sharing the splendors and miseries, the achievements and defeats of life - they are transformed. Our faith sees the wedding day not as the place of arrival, but the place where the adventure really begins."
We understand from the get-go that the relationship being narrated will not only be contentious, but will affect the entire Kingdom and not just the couple.
Naturally surrounding their story, The Crown 4 will show other pivotal events in the history of the British Royal Family and the Nation. In the cast, for example, there is also Gillian Anderson in the role of Margaret Thatcher.
But there will also be Marion Bailey, in the role of the Queen Mother, Tobias Menzies, who will be Prince Philip, and also Erin Doherty (Princess Anne), Helena Bonhham Carter (Princess Margaret) and Emerald Fennell who will instead play Camilla Parker. The whole Royal Family, therefore, will be played by top-level actors.
In short, it promises to be a very interesting fourth season: the appointment is for Sunday, November 15 on Netflix.
