The presentation of the new Microsoft Surface is just a few hours away: here are the latest rumors about Surface Pro 8, Surface Duo 2 and Surface Go 3
The table is practically set, and we are now a couple of days away from the Microsoft presentation of the new Surface range. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, and as is always the case in the vicinity of any highly anticipated event, the rumors arrive with greater intensity in an attempt to anticipate the characteristics of the devices coming.
So in recent hours have crowded the information on the account of Microsoft devices that will be the subject of the presentation on Wednesday, namely Surface Pro 8, Surface Duo 2, Surface Go 3 and Surface Book 4, as well as an update to Surface Pro X. All, needless to say, will come with Windows 11 pre-installed, the new operating system from Microsoft eagerly awaited by fans that will bring a new design, a new taskbar, a new Start menu, new applications, widgets will arrive and new features for settings, useful elements on multifunction tablets such as the next Surface.
Microsoft Surface Pro 8, how it will be
Surface Pro 8 will have the eleventh-generation Intel Core chips and removable SSD memory. The real highlight, however, will be the dramatic 13-inch display with 120 Hz refresh rate, and from the images distributed by the rumor we perceive how similar it will be to that of the Surface Pro X, with the lower and upper bezels not too reduced unlike those at the sides of the screen, which will be filed as much as possible.
So half of the bezels surrounding the display of Surface Pro 8 will be abundant for the presence - above - the webcam and - below - for the needs induced by the Microsoft keyboard. From Surface Pro X could be borrowed (but there are many doubts about it) also the idea of a keyboard with a recess in which to store the pen and recharge it wirelessly. According to rumors, Microsoft Surface Pro 8 will also have two Thunderbolt 4 inputs.
Microsoft Surface Duo 2, what it will look like
From Surface Duo 2 we expect a major step forward in terms of connectivity. The product is expected to be compatible with 5G networks, have Wi-Fi, NFC and Ultra Wide-Band (UWB), then the high-precision, short-range technology that Apple has been using to search for objects that AirTags are secured to. Wireless charging could also arrive.
Microsoft Surface Duo 2 is expected to have Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chip, 8 GB of RAM, 128/256 GB of storage, three cameras with the main 12 MP, an ultra-wide 16 MP and a 12 MP front-facing camera and slightly larger 5.8-inch displays.
Microsoft Surface Go 3, what it will look like
Microsoft Surface Go 3 will remain the entry level device in the Surface range. The entry-level configuration will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage which is pretty slow by today's standards, an Intel Pentium chip, and overall a pretty similar rig to its predecessor.
It gets better with the 8+128GB Surface Go 3 variant, while remaining an entry-level device in the range.
