Tests have started for the release of one of the most anticipated features of WhatsApp: the ability to use the same account on multiple devices
Arrives the announcement by WaBetaInfo, Twitter account always very informed about the news of WhatsApp: the developers have begun internal testing on the new tool that will allow you to use the same account on multiple devices. This is the most important feature on which WhatsApp has been working in recent years, after releasing the dark mode. For the application this is a real revolution: so far each profile is tied to a single smartphone (at most with WhatsApp Web you can use it on another device) and a single SIM card, in the future it will no longer be so.
Developers bet a lot on this new feature that should bring with it other novelties, all related to new tools necessary for it to work at its best. For example, there is talk of the arrival of a tool called Protect Backup that will serve to protect the backup with end-to-end encryption and a password so that no hacker can get hold of it. Fino a quando la funzione non sarà disponibile almeno sulla versione beta di WhatsApp è complicato capire come sarà integrata nell’app, ma è possibile fare delle ipotesi. Affinché funzioni al meglio, l’account WhatsApp non sarà più legato al numero della scheda SIM come avviene adesso, ma funzionerà come se fosse un social. Con il proprio account è possibile accedere a WhatsApp da qualsiasi dispositivo compatibile (arriverà anche l’app per iPad), basta scaricare il backup del profilo.
Anche per il backup ci sono delle novità. Da alcuni mesi stiamo parlando dello strumento Protect Backup, legato proprio allo sviluppo di questa funzionalità. Strumento fondamentale perché assicura un maggior livello di protezione al backup e nessun hacker potrà entrarne in possesso perché sarà protetto da una password ad hoc.

Quando arriva la nuova funzione
Per il momento sono partiti solamente i test interni e il nuovo strumento non è neanche arrivato sulla versione beta di WhatsApp per Android e iOS. Quindi è complicato fare delle previsioni: potrebbe essere rilasciata tra due mesi, come tra un anno, poiché sono tanti i fattori da tenere in considerazione. In primis il risultato dei test e la presenza di eventuali bug che compromettono l’utilizzo dell’app. Inoltre, questa nuova funzione è legata ad altri strumenti su cui gli sviluppatori stanno lavorando: Protect Backup to protect backups with a password and the WhatsApp app for iPad.
