The release of EMUI 10 will start from September 8 with the P30 and P30 Pro. By the end of September it will also arrive on other smartphones from the Chinese company
With the official presentation of EMUI 10, the Huawei Developers Conference, the first conference dedicated to developers organized by the Chinese company, closed. The highlight of the event was the launch of HarmonyOS, the cross-platform operating system created by Huawei to counter the overwhelming power of Android and iOS, but there were also other very interesting presentations. Such as the one dedicated to EMUI 10, the user interface that will soon debut on some Huawei smartphones.
The Chinese company bets a lot on the new version of the user interface. The design of the icons has been completely revised to make it closer to the Android world and new features have also been introduced in terms of functionality, as evidenced by the presence of the "night mode". The EMUI 10 also incorporates all the new features Google wanted in Android 10 Q, the next version of the operating system coming by the end of August.
The Chinese company has drawn up a road map and a list of Huawei smartphones that will receive the update to EMUI 10. Unfortunately, the release of the UI update will not happen simultaneously on all devices. The first smartphones to benefit from EMUI 10 will be the P30 series, while the Mate 20 and the Huawei P20 will have to wait a few more weeks. The same will also happen for Honor smartphones: the UI update will arrive a bit late.
The new features of EMUI 10
Huawei has focused on two aspects in the development of EMUI 10: a new icon and screen design, and new features that improve stability and make Chinese devices perform better.
As for the design, the icons have been completely changed to make them closer to those found in the stock version of Android. This radical change should make it more pleasant to use a Huawei smartphone.
On the functionality front, minor changes have been made to many aspects of the UI and Huawei apps have been updated. The biggest change is definitely the presence of dark mode. Huawei, like Google has already done for Android and Apple for iOS, has also added a dark mode at the software level. Huawei's night mode is characterized by the choice of a blue color, unlike the classic black chosen by other companies. According to Huawei developers, the blue allows better reading of words and details stand out more.
Hauwei smartphones, when will EMUI 10 be released
During the conference organized at the Huawei Developers Conference for EMUI 10, the Chinese company announced the arrival of the new UX on the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro for September 8. Now from China also comes the road map for the release of EMUI 10 on other Huawei devices. By the end of September, the UI roll-out will start on the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20x and the Mate 20 RS. Other Huawei smartphones will have to wait, however, until the end of the year.
The software update is also expected for Honor devices. The MagicUI 3.0, the interface based on EMUI 10, will be released for the Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor View 20 and Honor Magix 2 at the end of September.
