Xiaomi has presented the Mi 9 in China. On board we find the Snapdragon 855 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There will also be a version with 12GB of RAM
Xiaomi tries to steal the scene from Samsung and with a few hours in advance of the presentation of the Galaxy S10 (which we will follow live tonight from 20), launches on the market the new Mi 9 range. This is a smartphone much awaited by Italian users, especially since the Chinese company has officially opened its stores in Italy. As in the best Xiaomi habits, the Mi 9 is a smartphone with an excellent quality-price ratio and with features of a true top of the range.
The presentation took place in China, while in Europe it will be officially shown during the Mobile World Congress 2019, the fair dedicated to telephony that will start on February 25 in Barcelona. In the previous days, the smartphone was practically unveiled thanks to the previews published by the Chinese company itself: the Mi 9 mounts a Snapdragon 855 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone is also flanked by two other models: a premium version called Transparent Edition with as much as 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space and a low-cost model called Mi 9 SE.
Xiaomi Mi 9, the technical specifications
With the Mi 9 Xiaomi has tried to raise the bar even higher. The technical card Xiaomi Mi 9 has nothing to envy compared to other top of the range that will be presented in the coming months. On board we find the Snapdragon 855 chipset supported by the Adreno 640 GPU (designed specifically for gaming), 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The device also offers other configurations, with a larger amount of RAM and storage space.
A great job has been done in terms of design. Compared to the previous model, the notch has been shrunk down to a little larger than a drop. This has allowed Xiaomi to increase the surface area available to the screen and integrate a 6.39-inch display with FullHD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio.
Xiaomi has put a lot of focus on the photo compartment and the results obtained by the smartphone on DxOMark, a platform that tests cell phone photo sensors, prove it. The Mi 9 received a score of 107, which puts it on the same level as the Pixel 3 and Galaxy Note 9. When it comes to video, on the other hand, it received a score of 99, the highest recorded by a smartphone so far. The Mi 9 mounts a triple rear camera with a 48 Megapixel main sensor, a 16 Megapixel wide-angle secondary sensor and a 12 Megapixel telephoto lens. The front camera is 20 Megapixels. The quality of the shots is improved by the use of artificial intelligence.
The Mi 9 mounts a 3300mAh battery with support for fast wireless charging. The European version of the smartphone will arrive with a side button that will allow you to activate Google Assistant. Under the screen we also find a biometric sensor for quick unlocking the smartphone.
