From the "Do not disturb while driving" feature, to new formats for images and videos, via the Control Center: here's what to change about iOS 11
Apple, alongside the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, also launched iOS 11, the new operating system with which all of Cupertino's mobile devices will run, first unveiled during WWDC, the World Wide Developers Conference, staged in June.
Usersers, who own one of the devices produced by the bitten apple, must both optimally prepare their iPhone or iPad to receive the update, and change, once downloaded the new operating system, immediately some settings. These actions are essential to take full advantage of all the new features brought by iOS 11. For example, one of the most interesting features, introduced by the new version of Apple's OS, is "Do not disturb while driving", a service that prevents the driver from receiving notifications while behind the wheel.
How to enable Do not disturb while driving
To be able to use "Do not disturb while Driving" you need to enable the function, putting your hands to the iPhone settings. So, you'll have to open the Settings of the mobile device and then find, among the various entries, "Do not disturb". At the next menu, press on "Do not disturb while driving". Now, you'll have to choose whether to let the phone activate the feature automatically or when it is connected to the car's Bluetooth. Alternatively, iOS 11 gives you the option to launch the feature even manually.
Controlling Memory
The latest version of Cupertino's OS has optimized memory management. For example, it provides tips on how and where to save a portion of files to free up space on the iPhone. You can enable, for example, the feature that automatically deletes old conversations or less used apps. To control the new interface and enable its features is very easy: just open the iOS 11 settings, go to "General" and then click in the section that includes storage drives.
Customizing the Control Center
With iOS 11, Apple launched a new Control Center, which can be customized by users in a very simple way. You can, for example, add or delete apps or change their order and location. To change the multitasking menu, simply go into settings and then click on "Control Center". That's it.
Changing image and video formats
In iOS 11 there will be a new format for videos and one for images, which will significantly reduce the space taken up by various files in the memory. Movies will resort to the HEVC standard, while shots to the HEIF one.
If the new update did not change the formats automatically, we will have to do it manually. Open the system settings, then select the "Camera" item and finally click on "Formats". Now all you have to do is enable the "High Efficiency" option.
Verify Location
Apple's new mobile operating system has optimized the management of location services, allowing users to verify which apps track location. It will be possible, for example, to allow "programs" to locate us only while the app is in use. Just enter the settings once more, then go to "Privacy" and finally to "Location Services".
Apple Pay
Apple Pay, the electronic payment service, is one of the most useful new features recently launched by Cupertino. The feature must first be activated, a process that requires you to open the settings and select the "Wallet and Apple Pay" option to enter your credit card information and enable the service.
