LG V30, the smartphone with dual sliding display

The Korean company is working to launch the LG V30, a top-of-the-line smartphone that should feature a dual sliding screen

The LG V series in Italy has not been very successful. The phablet of the South Korean company, despite top of the range features never managed to break through and remained closed within the borders of the Asian nation. But the third version of the smartphone, LG V30, could change the smartphone industry forever.

Evan Blass (journalist always well-informed about the news concerning smartphones) has published on his Twitter account some images of the new LG V30 that show a dual sliding screen. The LG V series has always been characterized by the presence of two screens, but this time the South Korean company seems to want to change the cards on the table. The second screen had always been positioned at the top and was used only to facilitate access to some features of the device. The new solution chosen by LG, however, places the screen at the bottom and allows users to hide it, reducing the size of the smartphone.

Features LG V30

For the moment on the technical characteristics of the LG V30 there are no rumors although it is not difficult to predict that the South Korean company points on the best hardware components available on the market: Snapdragon 835 supported by at least 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The screen, as in the classic habits of the LG V series will be very large, at least 5.7 inches. Finally, the most interesting feature will definitely be the second pop-up display positioned at the bottom. From the images published by Evan Blass brings to mind many phones of the early 2000s that allowed you to hide the keyboard under the screen of the device. From what little leaks from South Korea, the second screen should offer many useful features to users: shortcuts to access applications, a qwerty keyboard and many other innovations on which LG is still working. The only unknown are the software houses that will have to develop ad hoc versions of their applications to use the smartphone at its best. In the coming months we will certainly know more.
