Google has announced the final closure for the social media Google+ by August 2019, here's how to retrieve the data entered within the platform
Google has now decided: in a few weeks it will close permanently Google+. The social platform, born to try to nibble away at Facebook's market share, has never found favor with users and, taking advantage of the security problems that could have endangered the data of over half a million users, Google has decided to put an end to it.
The date for the final farewell to Google Plus is set for August 2019. Before this date, if we have ever logged into Google Plus and published photos or posts, it is advisable to try to recover all the data inside it. This is a pretty simple operation and could allow you to download other data related to your Google account as well. In case you don't know how to download data from Google+, you'll just have to follow the guide just below and, within a few tens of seconds, you'll be ready to bid farewell to your profile on the Big G social.
Use Google Takeout to recover your data
Not everyone is aware of this, but Google has made a platform, called Takeout, which is used to recover our personal data from any Mountain View service we are subscribed to.Gmail and YouTube, but also Google Maps, Google Docs and, of course, Google Plus.
Once inside the service to backup Google data we'll have to login with our Google credentials and wait: after a few moments the list of all Big G services used with our account will appear. At this point we'll just have to select the services from which to download the data - in our case Google+, but nothing prevents you from downloading other information as well - and follow the guided procedure proposed by the site. Once this operation is completed we'll have recovered and secured our information within Google+ over the years. Simple isn't it?
