Netflix Party, or TeleParty, is a Chrome extension for Netflix that allows you to watch your favorite TV series with your friends even from a distance.

Netflix Party: how it works
Netflix Party, later renamed Teleparty, is an innovative way to watch TV: an application that allows you to spend your free time watching Netflix with friends, from home or on the move, zeroing physical distances thanks to digital technology. The idea has taken off not only because of the contingencies that have forced us to social distancing, but also because sociality plays an important part within TV entertainment. What's the point of watching a program we like on TV, without being able to share and comment on it with friends and loved ones? That's why more than 10 million users have decided to download and install Netflix Party, or Teleparty, the social TV app with the largest and most active community in the world.
In practice, Teleparty synchronizes video playback on Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, HBO and adds a group chat, through an extension available on the Google Chrome browser. That extension is also recently available on Microsoft Edge, which supports streaming in 4K and allows you to enjoy all the content in ultra-high definition.
Does Netflix Party work on smartphones as well? The answer is no, because Chrome doesn't support extensions on mobile. However, you can organize your video party with friends on all desktop and laptop computers, PCs and Macs, at home as well as on the go, as long as you have an Internet connection. Here's what you need to do to start using Teleparty. Prima di tutto, dovrai verificare che gli amici e i familiari con i quali desideri condividere i contenuti siano non solo abbonati a Netflix, ma anche che abbiano installato Netflix Party. Se non lo hanno ancora fatto, possono rimediare facilmente e completare l’operazione in pochi passaggi:
- Installa estensione: da Google Chrome o da Microsoft Edge vai sul sito dello sviluppatore, ovvero www.netflixparty.com e clicca su uno dei due bottoni in rosso "Install Teleparty", oppure "Get Teleparty for free". A questo punto verrai indirizzato in automatico al Chrome Web Store / Microsoft Edge Store e sarà sufficiente cliccare su "Add to Chrome" → "Aggiungi Estensione" per concludere in modo corretto l’installazione. A conferma che l’estensione di Netflix Party è stata installata, vedrai l’icona identificativa con la sigla "NP", in alto a destra, accanto alla barra del browser.
- Accedi a NP e crea il tuo video party: a questo punto puoi andare, con il browser sul quale l’estensione è stata installata, alla pagina di login di Netflix (www.netflix.com/it/login) ed effettuare l’accesso alla piattaforma utilizzando le tue credenziali. Una volta dentro, non ti resta che scegliere il contenuto che hai deciso di vedere in compagnia online e di iniziare la riproduzione sincronizzata cliccando su "Start Teleparty", a lato della barra di indirizzo. Il tuo personale ‘gruppo di ascolto e di visione’ sarà formato da tutti gli amici e i conoscenti con i quali vuoi condividerai l’URL.
- Commenta e chatta: quando le persone invitate avranno accettato il tuo suggerimento ad unirsi al gruppo, la visione condivisa e sincronizzata avrà inizio e ciascun utente potrà commentare in diretta utilizzando l’apposita chat messa a disposizione dalla piattaforma di Netflix Party.
