Are you away on business or an engagement and can't watch the match or the X-Factor final? No problem, here's how to do it for free from your smartphone
Are you away on business and can't make it home to watch your favorite team or the MotoGP race? No problem: if you're a Sky subscriber, the Sky Go service is also available for Android smartphones. So let's see how to install Sky Go for Android and watch Sky programs on your cell phone.
For the uninitiated, Sky Go is the free streaming service that Sky offers to all its subscribers for over a year. In addition to being able to see the channels already in your package (you can see Sky Cinema streaming, provided it is already part of your subscription), Sky Go offers a multitude of content on demand ranging from movies to TV series, through sporting events. The service can be used on two different devices (smartphone, tablet or computer), but not simultaneously. It is, however, the best solution to watch Sky for free from your computer and smartphone, especially when you're not at home.
Sky Go supported devices
While owners of the latest iPhone and iPad will not have major compatibility problems, only with the latest update Sky Go Android users of Google's operating system will have more opportunities to access live streaming of satellite channels. Of the devices supported by Sky Go Android, the most popular and used are: Galaxy Note 2, 3, 4, Galaxy S4, S5, the S6 range, the S7 range and the S8 range; Galaxy A3 2017, Galaxy A5 2017, Asus Zenfone 2 and 3, OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Meizu M5 Note andZUK Z1.
How to activate Sky Go
Before you can watch Moto GP streaming on your smartphone you will need to register in the Fai Da Te area on the Sky Italia website. From here, in fact, you can activate Sky Go (provided you have been subscribed for at least one year) and access over 40 channels and various on-demand content. If we are already registered we will enter our credentials and go on, if we are not registered we will have to click on "Not registered? Create your Sky ID now".
In the registration form you will have to enter various information: a user name, an email address, the tax code, the smart card number (or alternatively the user code on the bill) and choose a password. Once you have created your Sky ID you can manage your subscription (add or deactivate packages, for example), check your bill payment and activate Sky Go. Once registered you can access the section "Manage data and services "and press the "Activate" button in the Sky Go and Sky Go Plus area. Once you have completed the Sky Go registration process, you will finally be up and running.
Installing Sky Go for Android and iOS
To watch Sky for free on your cell phone you will need to install Sky Go on your device. Users who have an iPhone or iPad with at least iOS 8 on board will be able to download the Sky Go app from the App Store, while Android users will have a few more restrictions. If your smartphone is part of the supported devices you will be able to download Sky Go app from the Google Play Store or Samsung and Asus platforms. Once the download is complete you can install Sky Go and start streaming satellite channels.
All that's left to do is login with your Sky ID, register your device and you're done.
