Galaxy S8 and Note 8, the differences between Samsung’s top smartphones

The Galaxy Note 8 will be very similar to the Galaxy S8 but with some differences: larger screen, more RAM and dual rear cameras

With the Galaxy S8, Samsung has raised the bar to be able to define a top-of-the-line smartphone. Unique features, enhanced by the Infinity Display screen that redesigns the concept of a smartphone without edges. The display occupies over 80% of the front of the device, minimizing the top and bottom bezels.

But Samsung doesn't seem to want to stop. And for the Galaxy Note 8, the top of the range phablet to be released between late August and early September, is ready to launch new features, always related to the screen. From indiscretions released in recent weeks, the Note 8 would seem very similar to the Galaxy S8: Infinity Display, biometric sensor for fingerprints put in the rear and the same chipset. But in reality, at a very deep look, the two devices have obvious differences. Starting right from the screen that seemed to be the same. Here are the differences between Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8.

Infinity Display

The Galaxy Note 8 will also mount an Infinity Display screen similar to the one already seen in the Galaxy S8. But it won't be identical. Confirmed the curved edges, but the size will be higher. The panel mounted by the Galaxy Note 8 will be a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED with QuadHD resolution.

Ever thinner frames

The screen-to-body-ratio is the percentage occupied by the screen in the front. In the Galaxy S8, this percentage is about 85%, higher than almost any smartphone on the market. The percentage in the Note 8 will be even higher and will make the top and bottom bezels very thin, just enough space to insert the speakers and the camera.

Double rear camera

The Galaxy Note 8 will be the first smartphone from the South Korean company to have a dual front camera. It is not known which photo sensors will be mounted by the phablet, but it seems that Samsung wants to impress with never-before-used lenses.

RAM

With the release of the OnePlus 5 on the market, Samsung is called to present a smartphone that has superior performance to its competitors. And for this reason, the Galaxy Note 8 will have 6GB of RAM, 2GB more than the Samsung Galaxy S8.

S Pen

The S Pen is one of the unique features of the Note series and on the new model significant improvements will be made to the stylus, thanks also to the ability to make the most of the 6.3-inch screen.

Price

The last difference between the Note 8 and the Galaxy S8 will concern the price. Most likely, the Galaxy Note 8 will be launched at a price close to 1000 euros, a hundred more than the Galaxy S8's launch price.
