New rumors about the next iPhone 13 and its screen: Apple would be negotiating with Samsung the supply of displays with innovative features.
The next iPhone 13 flagship models will be able to count on a screen signed by Samsung.
After last year's rumors, which never materialized, of bringing displays with 120Hz refresh rate to the 12 series, Apple has finally found a solution to the issue by opting for OLED LTPO panels produced by the South Korean company.

Cuppertino's turnaround is confirmed by The Elec, a Korean website like Samsung, which launched the news on the net also providing some interesting details on the terms for the agreement related to the screens that will be used on the future generation of Applephones, coming out - as usual - in the last quarter of the year. If what was reported by the online magazine were to be confirmed by Apple, for the smartphones of the Californian company it would be a major update regarding one of the features still a step behind the direct competitors on the market, Samsung above all. But, as usual, Apple does not confirm or deny any details about its products if not during the official launch.
iPhone 13, how will the new displays
With a refresh rate of 120Hz, the new panels used by Apple are placed directly at the level of those supplied to the best flagship smartphones already available on the market. Characterized by LTPO technology (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide), these panels will overcome the problem of battery consumption that would have so far delayed the appearance of this type of OLED on previous models. As is well known, in fact, Apple's smartphones often have a battery that is not very large but a very pushed software optimization to increase autonomy. If the screen consumes too much, however, there is little to do and for this Apple is thinking about LTPO technology.
In fact, these particular screens would be able to consume less energy than normal OLED panels thanks to the ability to change the refresh rate during the use of the smartphone. In fact, without any intervention by the user, the setting can go from 120Hz while using the device to navigate the UI interface to 1Hz at rest, all automatically and advantageously in terms of consumption.
iPhone 13, the terms of the agreement
According to the report of The Elec, the agreement between Apple and Samsung has already been signed, with the guarantee by the South Korean company to provide 30 thousand LTPO OLED displays per month. Completed the first part of the deliveries, Samsung will move on to the realization of 70 thousand substrates made with the same characteristics.
As anticipated, the screens with 120Hz refresh rate will be completely intended for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Max models, the most advanced - and expensive - variants of the series. While, as for the base model iPhone 13 and the smaller version iPhone 13 Mini (assuming Apple plans to make an iPhone 13 Mini, given the iPhone 12 Mini's lack of success), the choice will once again fall on traditional 60Hz refresh rate screens.
