Huawei is ready to close the year with a new top of the line the Mate 20, a smartphone with a teardrop-shaped notch and the new Kirin 980 processor
By the end of the year Huawei will launch the Mate 20, one of three smartphones that the Chinese company plans to unveil in mid-October (the other two are the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Huawei Mate 20 Lite). The phone will have important features: on board we will find the processor Kirin 980, which will ensure top performance.
Huawei Mate 20 is a smartphone that collects all the successful elements of the other models of the Chinese company. On the back side of the smartphone we find three cameras plus the Led Flash as we have already seen on Huawei P20 Pro. In this case, however, it is different the arrangement of the sensors that are placed inside a small square above the physical sensor for fingerprints. Also curious is the notch on the screen that takes inspiration from the teardrop shape already seen on the flagship models of other Android manufacturers such as OPPO and Vivo. In addition to the front camera the notch on Mate 20 will also include a small speaker.
Huawei Mate 20: technical specifications
The screen will obviously be Full-View and with very thin bezels, the only element to break the full-screen view will be precisely the aforementioned teardrop notch. The display AMOLED will have a diagonal of 6.3 inches. On board we will find the aforementioned Kirin 980 flagship processor supported by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. Important autonomy of the new top of the range Huawei thanks to the 4,200mAh battery, which according to the first rumors in addition to Quick Charge will also be equipped with wireless charging. As for connectivity we find the 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type C port. The Mate 20 will run with Android 9 Pie based on the graphical interface EMUI 9.0.
Huawei Mate 20: photo compartment
The photo compartment will be one of the flagships of this new Huawei smartphone. As mentioned the sensors for the rear camera will be three with a solution similar to the Huawei P20 Pro but probably the main sensor of the Mate 20 will be even more performing than the 40 megapixels seen on the P20 Pro. In the front of the device instead we will find a single camera optimized with artificial intelligence to make perfect selfies and to use the portrait mode (bokeh effect) even in frontal shots.
Huawei Mate 20: release and prices
In all probability Huawei will present the Mate 20 after the presentation of the new Kirin 980 processor, which at the moment is scheduled for the IFA event in Berlin that takes place from August 31 to September 5, 2018. The presentation of the Mate 20 is scheduled for mid-October, in an event organized ad hoc by the Chinese company. For the arrival on the market will have to wait for the end of October, the beginning of November. The price is still unknown, but most likely to be around 600-700 euros.
