Amazon announces the Fire 7, which will have a better screen and battery than the previous one, and the Fire HD 8 that ensures 12 hours of autonomy
After announcing the Fire TV, the television made in collaboration with the Chinese company TCL, Amazon presents two new tablets: an updated version of the Fire 7 and the Fire HD 8. Thin and light, the devices from Bezos' company have interesting features.
The Fire 7, Amazon's most popular tablet, has been improved in several aspects. The device, in fact, integrates an IPS display, also 7 inches, which provides greater contrast and better defined texts. Improved also the battery life that, according to the e-commerce giant, will offer up to 8 hours of use. Users will have two solutions available. They will be able to choose between the 8 GB version or the 16 GB version. The internal storage space can, however, be increased to 256 GB through the microSD slot. And that's not all. Amazon has also made improvements in relation to Wi-Fi connectivity.
Features Fire HD 8
The Fire HD 8 is a better performing device, compared to its younger brother. Starting with the 8-inch display that has a better resolution: 1280×800 pixels. The tablet of the Fire family has a battery that provides up to 12 hours of battery life and a storage space of 16 GB or 32 GB. Again, the storage can be extended up to 256 GB. Both Fire tablets feature a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor and integrate a rear and front-facing camera. Most of Amazon's multimedia features are present on the devices: music, books, movies, apps, games, TV series and more.
Price and release date
To buy the Fire 7 you'll need £69.99. However, Prime customers will be able to take advantage of a discount and pay the tablet only €54.99. For the Fire HD 8 the cost required by Bezos' company is €109.99, which becomes €89.99 for Prime customers. Shipping of the tablets will begin on June 7.
