The Chinese company has made a smartphone similar to the Galaxy S8, but with worse technical specifications. The Bluboo S8 mounts a MediaTek chipset and 3 GB of RAM
The Galaxy S8 was definitely one of the most revolutionary smartphones launched in the last year: what makes the difference is definitely the screen, which, in addition to being curved at the edges, also occupies most of the front. Many companies in recent months have tried to copy the design of the Galaxy S8, but with little success.
Now there is also a Chinese company, which takes everything from the South Korean smartphone, except the technical specifications. At first glance, the Bluboo S8 looks like a perfect copy of the Galaxy S8, but the differences are actually many, starting from the technical features up to the features present in the software. But the biggest difference is in the price: the Bluboo S8 will be launched at just under 150 euros, a figure much lower than the smartphone produced by Samsung. And for the luckiest ones who manage to buy it during the pre-sale days (from August 1 to August 14), the price could drop to just under 80 euros.
Features Bluboo S8
The features of the Bluboo S8 are certainly not those of a top of the range, but few will choose the device for its internal specifications, many will do so for the design. This is not the first time that the Chinese company launches a screen without bezels: already a few months it had presented the Bluboo S1 and sales had been more than satisfactory. The Bluboo S8 mounts a MediaTek MT 6750T chipset supported by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The 5.7-inch display has an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 1440 x 720 pixel resolution. A difference from the Galaxy S8 is the photo compartment: The device has a dual rear camera with two 13-megapixel sensors, while the front camera is 5 megapixels.
There is also a fingerprint reader, located under the dual rear camera, while the battery is 3450 mAh. In terms of security, the company has worked together with the company 360 Safety to develop a system that keeps a constant watch on threats from outside.
Price and release date
The smartphone will be on pre-sale online from August 1 to August 14 at a price of just under 150 euros. But the lucky ones will be able to buy the device at a price of about 80 euros, a real bargain, despite the fact that it is not a top of the range.
