Fortnite updates to version 7.3 and introduces gamepad support for the smartphone app. Improvements also for the Nintendo Switch version
Fortnite updates and introduces a long-awaited new feature for gamers: support for smartphone joypads. This is a feature in development since the end of last year and that has finally been released: you can play with your smartphone having the same sensations of the console or computer. The support has been extended to all major gamepads on the market: Razer, Microsoft, Steelseries, Gamevice and Logitech.
Fortnite update 7.3 has also brought other improvements: for the Honor View 20 and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, support for 60 frames per second has been integrated. Finally, the update also covered the Nintendo Switch. The developers of Epic Games have released a patch that solves the slowdown problems encountered in the last period by players. The gameplay is much smoother and even the graphic textures have been improved.
Fortnite 7.3 update: joypad support
After a long wait, gamepad support for Fortnite's smartphone app finally arrives. Just connect your joypad to your smartphone via cable or Bluetooth and Fortnite will automatically recognize it, making all the icons on the screen disappear. In this way the gameplay changes substantially making life easier for gamers. According to Epic Games, on iOS all the joypads available on the market are supported, while on Android most of them are. So if you have a Microsoft, Razer or Logitech gamepad, you'll be able to use it to play with the Fortnite app.
The other new feature for Android smartphones is support for 60Hz screens. The first two devices to benefit from this feature are the Honor View 20 and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. In the coming months, the support will be extended to other smartphones as well.
Fortnite 7.3: what changes
Fortnite update 7.3 doesn't only affect smartphones, but also consoles. For the Nintendo Switch has been released a patch that goes to solve the many gameplay issues seen in recent months and has also been improved graphics.
