Samsung's cheapest 5G smartphone ever is coming to market: it's the A42 and in addition to the fast network it also has a great battery.
About two months after Samsung's presentation, more and more news continue to leak out about the new Galaxy A42. In particular, this time it is the 5G support, in addition to the low price that make this phone a valid specimen of the mid-range.
He made his official debut before the general public only last October 22, the latest model, in order of time, the range of products Galaxy A and immediately managed to make a name for itself, imposing itself for its peculiarities of great interest. With Galaxy A42, Samsung was able to add another important piece to the line that focuses everything on the realization of technological devices at affordable prices, without having to give up interesting details such as 5G connectivity. And it is precisely with the speed of 5G that is placed in direct competition with other models from the price much more sustained.
Galaxy A42, 5G at a low price
The new Samsung smartphone arrives on the European market at a price of less than 400 euros, 369.90 euros from the list, rather low compared to the technical characteristics that distinguish it. It therefore becomes increasingly approachable to 5G technology, thanks to the A series of the South Korean giant, even for all those pockets that do not want to give up high-speed network without emptying the wallet.
Galaxy A42 5G, technical specifications
For its mid-range phone, Samsung has chosen a configuration rather interesting from the point of view of functionality. In addition to the 5G connectivity that is evident from the name, it seems now confirmed the choice of processor for this new Galaxy A42 5G, namely Snapdragon 750G, instead of the rumored Snapdragon 690. The information, however, did not come directly from the South Korean manufacturer but from the specifications present on Google Play.
To this is added an internal memory of 128GB, expandable via slot with microSD slot. Several RAM sizes available, namely 4GB, 6GB and 8GB. The operating system is Android 10 with One UI 2.5 and there is a dual-SIM slot. Speaking of cameras, however, the phone houses a total of 5, a 20MP front-facing one and four on the back, with 48MP lenses, 8MP ultra-wide-angle, 5MP macro and 5MP dedicated to depth.
The display is a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U, with HD+ resolution while, for the battery, the capacity stands at 5,000mAh, with support for 15W adaptive fast charging. Rounding out the features is an under-display fingerprint reader and A-GPS connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB-C port and wired earphone jack. Galaxy A42 5G is available in three colors: Prism Dot Black, Prism Dot White and Prism Dot Gray.
