The Galaxy S11 should have a sensor dedicated exclusively to night photos: here's how it works
In recent days, the Galaxy S11 has been the protagonist of many rumors and anticipations, so much so that on social networks have also been published photographic renders on how it could be the next top of the range of Samsung coming out in 2020. The images have created a lot of buzz in the world of technology: the Galaxy S11 Plus should have in the back a rectangular bumper very showy and quite ugly to see.
The reason is simple: the smartphone should have five photo sensors, all of different sizes. Samsung is betting a lot on the photo compartment for its next top of the range: the goal is to raise the bar even higher and become a serious competitor for SLR cameras. The main sensor of the Galaxy S11 we have already spoken: it should be 108 megapixels and ensure high quality images. The latest news concerns, however, the fifth sensor: according to the latest rumors should be dedicated exclusively to night photos to make them more faithful to what the human eye sees.
Galaxy S11 Plus: what is the Bright Night Sensor
The confirmation of the presence of a sensor for night photos comes from letsgodigital, Dutch technology information portal. The site has published a patent registered by Samsung in Europe that refers to a particular technology: Bright Night Sensor. The name is pretty self-explanatory: it is a photo sensor to make the images taken at night brighter. For the moment we do not know other characteristics of the lens, but this indiscretion makes it clear that Samsung is working hard on this aspect and that it will be central in the Galaxy S11 Plus.
From the information leaked so far, the smartphone should have five rear cameras: in addition to the main 108 Megapixel sensor we will find a wide-angle camera, a telephoto lens, a sensor for depth of field and one, precisely, for night shots. Samsung should also equip the smartphone with a laser autofocus, a technology so far never used by the South Korean company.
When the Galaxy S11 Plus comes out
The device should be presented towards the end of February in Barcelona, in the week dedicated to the Mobile World Congress 2020, the most important global exhibition dedicated to the world of smartphones.
