The Galaxy Z Fold 2 may not be unveiled together on August 5: software development delays. Here's when it should arrive
No announcement of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 during the Galaxy 2020 Unpacked event on August 5. For those who had hoped for an official launch alongside the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G, disappointment will be inevitable. Samsung would have postponed the launch to next fall, due to the software that has not yet been completed.
In the meantime, however, the technical characteristics of the new foldable smartphone have been revealed by the site ETNews and do not disappoint expectations at all. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will feature a dual screen: an internal foldable 7.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and UTG protection for the ultra-thin glass. On the outside, however, the Super AMOLED screen is 6.23 inches and equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, as in the first-generation Galaxy Fold.
Galaxy Z Fold 2, the features
In addition to the two screens and being foldable, Samsung's new smartphone comes with top-of-the-line features. Both internally and externally it is equipped with a 10-megapixel selfie camera, while the rear camera has a 12-megapixel main sensor with a wide-angle lens and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens. If these rumors are confirmed, we could see that for the camera configuration of Galaxy Z Fold 2 Samsung has chosen the same one used for Galaxy S20.
As for battery life, old rumors talk about a dual battery with a combined capacity of 4365 mAh. In addition, it will be equipped with a 25W fast charging charger, but will also support 15W wireless fast charging. The processor will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+, but there are no details yet about the possible RAM configurations. The versions of the storage space, on the other hand, could be two: 256 or 512 GB for the internal memory.
Galaxy Z Fold 2, when the launch?
If many believed that next August 5 during the Unpacked Galaxy 2020 the new foldable smartphone from Samsung would be unveiled, they will be disappointed. It seems that due to software issues, the official launch of Galaxy Z Fold 2 has been postponed to the fall, most likely to the month of October, if there are no other technical issues to resolve.
