Galaxy Z Flip is the new flexible smartphone from Samsung with clamshell design. Here are the features, price and release date in Italy
It was the most anticipated device and did not betray the expectations: Samsung opened the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 with the Galaxy Z Flip, the second foldable smartphone of the South Korean company. We knew almost everything about the device thanks to the rumors and videos of recent weeks, but Samsung has still unveiled some news, such as the user interface developed in collaboration with Google specifically for the foldable device.
The Galaxy Z Flip, like the Galaxy S20, is a top of the range smartphone. The peculiarity is the flexible screen and the clamshell opening that vaguely resembles that of the Motorola RAZR. The internal screen, when fully open, has a diagonal of 6.7 inches, while when folded the interface splits into two 4-inch displays. Externally there is another 1.06-inch display where the time is shown, messages received and also allows you to accept or reject calls (it is touch). In order not to repeat the same mistakes made with the Galaxy Fold, the company's first foldable smartphone, Samsung has decided to mount a very scratch-resistant screen that should not have any problems.
The Galaxy Z Flip is available in Italy already from February 14 at a price of 1520 euros in the colors Mirror Purple and Mirror Black. Also available is a limited edition Thom Browne Edition at 2580 euros.

The most anticipated device of the evening was definitely the Galaxy Z Flip and the smartphone did not betray the expectations. On board we find the Snapdragon 855+ chipset with supporting 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory, not expandable. Two screens are present: one internal and one external. The foldable display has a 6.7-inch diagonal with FullHD+ resolution. It has an Ultra-Thin Glass coating that protects against scratches. The external screen is only 1.06 inches and is used more for notifications and incoming calls.
The photographic compartment does not make a shout of miracle as, however, is the case on the Galaxy S20. Internally we have a 10-megapixel camera, while on the outside there is a 12-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor.
The batteries are two for a total of 3300mAh. Fast charging at 15W. The fingerprint scanner is present on the side. The Galaxy Z Flip comes to market with the Android 10 operating system with One UI 2.0 customization designed specifically for the foldable smartphone.

This is Samsung's first smartphone with a clamshell design. When closed, the dimensions are very compact, although the thickness is more than an inch and a half. The weight, however, is within the norm: 183 grams.
