Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition was unveiled on September 23 during the Unpacked event. The new smartphone from the South Korean company combines refined design, top-of-the-line technical specifications, such as a triple camera with artificial intelligence and a 120 Hz display, and an affordable price.
The concept of the new Galaxy S20 FE was born out of the Covid-19 pandemic emergency, in which technology played a key role in people's lives. Samsung has thus decided to offer a smartphone to its "fans", expanding the range of the Galaxy S20 series with a device that can adapt to the needs of a greater number of users. The smartphone will be available in both 4G version, as well as with support for 5G connectivity. The triple camera, on the other hand, offers professional-level shots, for bright and sharp photos even in poorly lit environments.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE: the official features
Samsung's Fan Edition smartphone can count on a 6.5-inch Infinity-O Super AMOLED FullHD+ display, with 1080×2400 resolution and HDR10+ certificate, with 120 Hz refresh rate. The processor is a powerful octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 for the Galaxy S20 FE that supports 5G connectivity, while the 4G version is equipped with an Exynos 990. RAM is 6GB LPDDR5, while internal storage is 128GB but memory is expandable with microSD up to 1TB. The 4500 mAh battery ensures a long life and supports fast charging, both wired and wireless.
The camera compartment is also top of the line for the Galaxy S20 FE. On the back, we find a triple configuration with a 12-megapixel wide-angle main sensor, ultra-wide-angle secondary sensor also 12 megapixels, and a third 8-megapixel telephoto sensor. In addition, we find a 3x optical zoom, zoom with Super Resolution up to 30x, both optical and digital, and OIS technology peer image stabilization. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, is a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is IP68-rated, meaning it's resistant to both water and dust, and features a special finish that minimizes fingerprint marks on the back of the device. Samsung has therefore not given up on a refined design for the smartphone, which is available in six color variants: Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy and Cloud White.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE: launch date and price
Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S20 FE on September 23 and the smartphone can be pre-ordered until October 1 directly on the South Korean company's website. In the case of pre-order, Samsung for its fans has also reserved a special free gift to choose between the new Galaxy Fit2 smartband or a 3-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and the dedicated Game Controller. The launch date instead is set for October 2, both for physical stores and online stores. The price is 669 euros for the 4G version and 769 euros for the model that supports 5G.
