Motorola is preparing to launch a new smartphone in the mid-low end of the market: what will the budget model codenamed Capri look like
The beginning of 2021 will mark the launch of Motorola's new mid-low-end smartphone. The codename of the model is Capri and, already by March, it could make its official debut on some of the international markets. Waiting for more information from the manufacturer, here are the first technical information.
The news of the upcoming smartphone from Motorola already dates back to last December. In fact, already last month had spread the anticipation of not one but two new models, specifically called Capri and Capri Plus. Although there are still no certain confirmations on the official names with which they will be presented in a definitive way, the two incoming models should correspond respectively to the codes XT-2127 and XT-2129, both approved this year by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and now in the home stretch. It is instead of the last few hours the confirmation, which came directly from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand, the approval of the variant XT-2129-2, called Moto G30. Could this be the definitive name?
Motorola Capri, technical characteristics
Although the name Capri is associated with luxury tourism and wealth, the first information on the new smartphone from Motorola, appeared on Geekbench, speak of a model with features not excellent, which should correspond to a fairly low price. It is in fact a device with a screen with HD + resolution, with a refresh rate of 90Hz. There are, however, still no information on the final design that will characterize the model. The same goes for the processor even if, from the first rumors appeared on the network, the final choice may have fallen on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662.
In the Capri should then be a fairly large battery, from 5,000 mAh. Making up the memory of the device, two different RAM sizes and as many storage configurations. In fact, there would be two different versions planned for the smartphone: the first, with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage disk, while the second with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space. On the possibility of expanding the memory via external cards, however, there are no details yet.
Motorola Capri, camera details
Some more information has been revealed about the set of cameras available for Motorola's next phone. If on the front side the choice has fallen on a lens with a 13-megapixel sensor, the back would feature a triple camera, consisting of a 64-megapixel main sensor, a 13 MP ultra wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor.
