The OnePlus 7 Pro mounts a Snapdragon 855 processor with to support up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It arrives on May 21 starting at 709 euros
With an event held in London, OnePlus has made official the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, the two new top of the range devices planned for this first half of 2019. The Chinese company has changed its approach compared to the past diversifying the offer: the "normal" version is flanked by a "Pro" with a different design and with three rear cameras.
For OnePlus it was a painful but necessary choice to meet the needs of the market. Competitors (Samsung, Huawei, Apple) have led the way by presenting multiple versions of the same smartphone series (Galaxy S10, Huawei P30 and iPhone X are an example) and OnePlus had to adapt. But it has done so with its own philosophy and style. The price of the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro has increased compared to the past, but the quality and functionality of the devices has also improved. With the OnePlus 7 Pro, the company takes a big step forward and shortens the distance that separates it from Samsung and Huawei. The goal is to get out of the niche built in recent years and become a brand known worldwide.
OnePlus 7 Pro: data sheet
Don't betray its philosophy and ensure users the best possible experience. And for OnePlus, a smartphone to be efficient must be fast. That's why on board the OnePlus 7 Pro we find the Snapdragon 855 supported by 6/8/12GB of RAM and 128/256GB of non-expandable internal storage. To ensure even better performance, OnePlus has optimized the software by introducing the new RAM Boost feature that speeds up the opening of applications by better managing the available memory.
The screen size has increased compared to the past and the merit is mainly due to the design chosen by OnePlus: the front camera is hidden inside the shell and appears through a pop-up system that is activated only when needed. This choice has made it possible to eliminate the notch and minimize the bezels. The Fluid AMOLEd display has a 6.67-inch diagonal with QuadHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10 and HDR10+.
The haptic vibration feed has also been improved, thanks to a new system that adapts to users' needs. A 10-layer cooling system has been integrated to better manage the internal temperature.
Onboard we find a 4000mAh battery with support for the new Warp Charge 30 charging that allows for 50% battery life in 20 minutes. Under the screen we find the fingerprint reader.
OnePlus 7 Pro, the photo compartment
Not only performance. OnePlus has also focused on imaging and has included no less than three cameras in the back of the OnePlus 7 Pro. We find a 48-megapixel main sensor with optical stabilization, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 78mm focal length and a 16-megapixel wide-angle sensor and 117-degree field of view. To improve image quality, the new UltraShot algorithm was developed, which allows you to shoot even in complicated lighting conditions. In addition to HDR+ there is also the Super Resolution feature that collects more information by taking more pictures.
OnePlus 7 Pro, the smartphone for gamers
OnePlus has also thought about gaming enthusiasts and introduced some very useful innovations. Let's start with the screen which, thanks to the 90Hz refresh rate, guarantees better image quality. The , on the other hand, boosts the work of the CPU and GPU to eliminate at the root any possibility of lag and slowdown.
