Safety: always by your side is the new film signed by Disney that will make audiences dream during the holiday season. We are in front of a dramatic film inspired by a true story, that of Ray McElrathbey, played by actor Jay Reeves.
Ray is a student at Clemson University who succeeds in the football team, in the role of safety and in the meantime takes care of his little brother, Fahmarr 11 years old. In fact, he comes from a difficult family and finds himself having to face two challenges: on the one hand that of an emerging and passionate athlete, and on the other that of a loving and determined older brother. The result is an exciting film, perfect to watch during the end-of-year holidays and suitable for both adults and kids. The film is directed by Academy Award nominee Reginald Hudlin (The Black Godfather). The soundtrack, on the other hand, is by Grammy Award winner Marcus Miller.
Safety: always by your side - what it's about
As mentioned, the film is inspired by the true story of athlete Ray McElrathbey. Ray is a young man attending Clemson University who faces several difficulties related to his family. He is helped by his teammates on the football team and throughout the community. This allows him to better manage his problems and above all take care of his little brother.
Little Fahmarr is taken into custody by his brother who takes him with him to the college, where he lives in his room in the university dormitory. Safety: always by your side is therefore a dramatic film, because it deals with strong and important issues, but it is still treated by Disney that "sweetens" it by avoiding to put the emphasis on the difficulties, while the successes and the sense of brotherhood prevail. The narrative therefore becomes suitable even for children.
Cast of Safety: always by your side
In the feature film the role of the protagonist is entrusted to actor Jay Reeves (previously appeared in All American and in The Tax Collector). Thaddeus J. Mixson instead plays Fahmarr.
With them in the cast we find Corinne Foxx, Hunter Sansone, Matthew Glave, Amanda Warren and several actors, many of them little known to the general public.
In addition, Cast of Safety: Always by Your Side is produced by Mark Ciardi, (who previously worked on the film Miracle) and Gordon Gray (The Rookie). The film also features a cameo by Giorgio Tavecchio, the Italian American football star who played in the National Football League (NFL).
Director Reginald Hudlin was particularly pleased with the result: "Safety: Always by Your Side is a film about brotherhood and coming together for the greater good, which is a message our society needs right now.
