La Famiglia Addams torna con una serie tv che Netflix ha affidato a uno tra i registi migliori: Tim Burton. Maestro delle fiabe dark più amate di sempre, indimenticabile Edward mani di forbice con un giovanissimo Jhonny Deep, sarà lui a dirigere gli otto episodi di Wednesday, la serie che ha come protagonista Mercoledi Addams.
La Famiglia Addams nasce con una serie di esilaranti e macabre vignette nel 1938 e da allora sono stati innumerevoli i prodotti che ne sono derivati: film, cartoni animati, lungometraggi e merchandising di vario genere. Un successo enorme quello della family più dark di sempre. Ora a scrivere le nuove storie ci saranno Al Gough e Miles Millar che già hanno ideato SmallVille dell’universo di Superman. Tim Burton ha già diretto miniserie, la più recente il live action Dumbo del 2019, per Wednesday prevede un cambio di rotta rispetto a come siamo abituati a vivere gli Addams: sarà quasi un dramedy di formazione quello incentrato su Mercoledì alle prese con i suoi primi anni di scuola.
Il cast della famiglia Addams
Il cast della serie ideata da Tim Burton per Netflix è ancora in fase di aggiornamento, ma pare proprio che l’attrice, già premio Oscar, Catherina Zeta Jones, vestirà i panni dell’iconica Morticia. Recentemente la Jones è stata impegnata nel piccolo schermo con la serie Prodigal Son.
Catherina Zeta Jones ha finalmente firmato per interpretare la matriarca degli Addams, dopo aver prestato la sua voce nei due film di animazione della Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, il secondo in uscita a ottobre 2021, proprio a Morticia Addams.
Nei panni della giovane Mercoledì abbiamo Jenna Ortega che abbiamo già visto interpretare Ellie Alves nel drama thriller You.Luis Guzmán was instead chosen to play the distinguished husband, cigar lover par excellence, Gomez Addams.

The plot of Wednesday
The series created by Tim Burton will focus on the story of little Wednesday struggling with school. It will tell the young Addams' attempts to manage her paranormal powers and abilities, but not only. In the eight episodes will be told how Wednesday will try to solve a series of murders that terrorize the town and unravel a supernatural mystery that also involved his parents 25 years ago. All of this while Wednesday tries to have a normal life, as much as an Addams can, in the busy days of Nevermore.
Teddy Biaselli, Netflix's director of original series, was nothing short of ecstatic at the announcement of Burton's direction, who has always been a passionate Addams fan. The story created by Tim, will be unique: it retains the characteristic aspects of the family, wit and irony, but brings out characters of normality unseen, for the Addamses.
