Alex Pina's new work is set to land on Netflix and will be an adrenaline-pumping drama, a journey taken by the three main characters. Here is the plot, cast and release.
On March 19 on Netflix will arrive the new TV series written by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez, the authors of La Casa di Carta. It is titled Sky Rojo and will be a fun and explosive drama, which boasts in the cast the Argentine singer and actress Lali Espósito and actor Miguel Ángel Silvestre.
The series will focus on the events of three women, Coral, Wendy and Gina, who decide out of the blue to change their lives and escape in search of freedom. It will therefore be a hectic journey, where there will be no shortage of adrenaline-filled and funny moments. Their bond will gradually strengthen and together they will be able to face all adversities. Sky Rojo is Álex Pina's fourth work for the platform: the author is tied to Netflix by a multi-year contract and has already worked on other projects: not only La Casa di Carta, but also White Lines and Vis a Vis. The first is the most successful Spanish series in recent years, the second debuted online in May 2020 earning a decent result, while the last is the Spanish version of Orange is the new black. And now the public is waiting to watch the new title.
What is Sky Rojo about: plot
Coral, Wendy and Gina are three prostitutes imprisoned in a life of excesses and obligations that they no longer love. They decide to escape from the Las Novias night club where they work. Romeo, their boss, meanwhile, chases them across the country, along with his henchmen, Moisés and Christian. Le tre donne (una cubana, una argentina e l’altra spagnola) che hanno numerosi precedenti penali, non possono affidarsi alla polizia e si immergono quindi in una fuga mozzafiato, dove affrontano numerose difficoltà.
Sky Rojo è quindi la narrazione di un viaggio dove succede davvero di tutto. Grazie alla loro forza e al legame che le unisce, riescono a fuggire e cercano di realizzare i sogni a cui per troppo tempo hanno rinunciato. Lungo il loro viaggio incontreranno altri strambi personaggi, che non faranno altro che arricchire la storia e renderla ancora più adrenalinica. Proprio come ne La Casa di Carta, tutto ruota attorno a personaggi perfettamente caratterizzati, con i loro pregi e difetti.

Le riprese sono iniziate alla fine del 2019 tra Madrid e Tenerife, in seguito si sono fermate per qualche mese a causa del Covid-19 per essere terminate alla fine del 2020. Sky Rojo fa parte delle novità di questo mese, uscirà infatti su Netflix il 19 marzo 2021.
