Observe the life of Carlo Verdone up close when the actor and director is not on set. Vita da Carlo is the television series written and directed by Verdone that will soon be streaming on Prime Video, Amazon's platform.
A series in 10 episodes of 30 minutes each in which the actor and director recounts intimate aspects of his life off the stage, along with his closest friends and the place he is most attached to in the world: his neighborhood pharmacy. The actor and director has never made it a secret that he has suffered from hypochondria and has a great passion for medicine, so much so that in 2019 he received honorary membership in the register of pharmacists in Rome. Vita da Carlo is produced by Filmauro of Aurelio and Luigi De Laurentis and will enrich the catalog of Italian productions for Amazon Original, along with other series such as Dinner Club, Ferro, Celebrity Hunted and The Ferragnez.
Vita da Carlo: what it's about
Carlo Verdone is a generous and helpful man, who never denies a selfie or an autograph asked by fans in the street. His open public image corresponds to a private dimension that is frugal and marked by a rigid routine, almost as if it were a prison or one of his comedies.
In the series composed of 10 30-minute episodes, Verdone plays himself: a Carlo who lets himself be discovered and who also lets his small circle of friends, all different from each other and bizarre in their own way, discover him. In the series there is also the love for a pharmacist, which blossomed in his neighborhood pharmacy. And the comedy takes unpredictable turns when an unusual proposal arrives: to run for mayor of Rome.
