Only three months have passed since the release of the Pocophone F1, the low-cost smartphone with top-of-the-line features from Xiaomi, and it's already time to see the successor of the smartphone. The Pocophone F2 has been spotted on benchmark platforms, where smartphones are tested before the official launch, a sign that the development of the device is already at an advanced stage. Confirming the imminent launch also came the tweet of one of the creators of the Pocophone brand who gave appointment in the coming days for a big event: the message ended with the iconic hashtag #NEWPOCO.
Pocophone is a project that is part of the great Xiaomi galaxy and aims to make smartphones with excellent performance at a price much lower than the competition. Also arrived in Italy, the Pocophone F1 was launched at a price below 400 euros and now you can find it at about 300 euros. For a device with Snapdragon 845 and 6GB of RAM this is a great price. However, the smartphone failed to break through in the European market and Pocophone immediately set to work on making a second, improved version of its smartphone. For this reason, the Poco F2 is expected to arrive in January 2019.
How will the Xiaomi Poco F2
For the new smartphone, Pocophone will go to improve the aspects that have little convinced the first device. It will start from the rear camera where the optical stabilizer was absent and will go to the design with a much smaller notch and most likely teardrop-shaped. The technical card will be of the Poco F2 will include the Snapdragon 845, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of technical storage, the same configuration as the previous model. The screen, however, will be 6.2 inches with FullHD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. At the rear will find place a dual camera with the main sensor of 20 megapixels and secondary 16 megapixels. NFC technology, one of the flaws reported by users on the Poco F1, will also be present. Finally, the battery of the Pocophone F2 should be 4000mAh.
How much does the Poco F2 cost
Almost certainly the Chinese company will continue the philosophy that has guided it so far: smartphones with excellent performance at a much lower price than the competition. The Poco F2 should arrive in Italy at a price of around 400 euros. For the release on the market we will have to wait until the end of January or the beginning of February.
