Motorola unveils its top of the line: Snapdragon 835 and super drop-resistant QuadHD screen. With Moto Mods you can make 360-degree videos
After the many rumors, Motorola has finally removed the veils to the Moto Z2 Force, the top of the range that goes to complete the new line-up of smartphones of the U.S. company (acquired by now for some time by Lenovo). The Moto Z2 Force is the older brother of the Moto Z2 Play, presented a few weeks ago also in Italy.
For its new top of the range, Motorola has not cared about compromises, choosing the best hardware components available on the market, starting with the Snapdragon 835 chipset, now present on all the top of the range released in the first seven months of 2017. As for the design, however, the smartphone is very similar to Motorola devices released in recent years: compact style with a very accentuated rear bump where the dual rear camera is housed. The device is thinner than the Moto Z Force model, a feature that has forced the company to opt for a smaller 2730 mAh battery. But from Motorola promise that it will not affect the autonomy of the device. We'll see.
Moto Z2 Force features
The Moto Z2 Force mounts a Snapdragon 835 chipset supported by 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The version of the smartphone changes depending on the country where it will be marketed. The storage space can be increased by another 2TB using a MicroSD card. The display is 5.5 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The peculiarity of the screen lies in the Moto ShatterShield technology that increases the resistance of the glass. Instead, the body is made of 7000 Series aluminum that makes it lightweight and durable at the same time. The smartphone is water repellent, but not waterproof.
The photo compartment includes a dual rear camera with 12-megapixel sensors. Motorola has opted for an RGB sensor and one dedicated exclusively to black and white photos, a choice also made by Huawei for its top of the range devices. The front camera, however, is 5 megapixels and is equipped with flash.
In the front is also placed the fingerprint reader. The battery, however, is 2730 mAh, an obligatory choice given the thickness of the smartphone. Motorola has, however, assured to have worked on the optimization between hardware and software to increase the autonomy of the device.
Price and release date Moto Z2 Force
Initially, the Moto Z2 Force will be available only on the U.S. market at a price of about $750. It is not excluded that in the coming months it will be launched in Europe as well. It will be available immediately in Super Black, Fine Gold and Lunar Gray colors.
Moto 360 Camera MOD
One of the peculiarities of Motorola smartphones is the ability to add accessories through Moto Mods, covers that allow you to enrich the functionality of the device.
With the release of the Moto Z2 Force, the U.S. company also presented the Moto 360 Camera MOD, a camera that makes 360-degree videos and that can be easily applied to the smartphone. The 360-degree videos will have a 4K resolution and can be quickly uploaded to social accounts. The Moto 360 Camera MOD will be available in the U.S. for a price of $299.99.
