According to the latest rumors, the Galaxy S9 will debut on February 25 at Mobile World Congress. The market launch will take place on March 16
The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will be presented on February 25 during the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona. The officiality comes directly from Samsung, which has started sending official invitations to the press. Instead, the release date for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus is set for March 16.
In recent years, it had snubbed the show to focus on organizing an ad hoc event held between late March and early April. But for next year, it seems to have changed its mind, and the culprit is the iPhone X. To respond as quickly as possible to the launch of Apple's borderless device, Samsung will anticipate the release of the Galaxy S9 by about a month compared to last year. This was also possible due to the choice of Samsung to make few corrections to the device: under the point of view of design will be very similar to the Galaxy S8. What will change is only the hardware and the photographic compartment.
The technical characteristics of the Galaxy S9
Thanks to the rumors and indiscretions of recent weeks, the Galaxy S9 has definitely taken shape. The smartphone will not differ much from the previous model and will have a bezel-less design with even thinner bezels. On board we will find the Exynos 9810 chipset (which will be presented at CES 2018) that will integrate special features for artificial intelligence and machine learning. In support will be 4GB of RAM and an internal memory of 64GB (expandable via microSD card). The Galaxy S9 Plus, on the other hand, will hit the market with 6GB of RAM and 64/128/256/512GB of storage. The screen size should be more or less the same as last year: 5.8 inches for the Galaxy S9 and 6.2 inches for the Galaxy S9 Plus.
In comparison to last year, Samsung would seem to be intent on launching two devices with some different features. For example, the camera compartment. The Galaxy S9 will have a single rear camera, while the Galaxy S9 Plus will feature a dual sensor at the back. Small differences also on the front camera compartment, mainly related to the face recognition sensor.
Face and iris scanning
For the Galaxy S9, Samsung has focused mainly on the security of the device. A new iris scanning sensor will be integrated, which should work even in low light conditions. The same goes for facial scanning: Samsung should adopt sensors that will allow users to use a system very similar to that seen on the iPhone X with three-dimensional face scanning. On the Galaxy S9, the sensor will be integrated inside the camera, while on the Galaxy S9 Plus they will be separated, thanks to the greater space available.
Battery Galaxy S9 more capacious
According to rumors about the Galaxy S9 coming from South Korea, the smartphone should mount a new motherboard with design SLP that allows you to mount components in a smaller space. This should allow Samsung to mount more powerful batteries, ensuring a longer battery life for the device.
Galaxy S9 release date
When will the Galaxy S9 be released in Italy? The smartphone will be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona on February 25. Pre-order will be opened from March 1, while the market release is set for March 16.
