To prevent eyestrain at nighttime, Apple has come up with a new feature, Invert Colors, featured in the iOS 11 update
Anybody who has used their iPhone or iPad in the dark has probably experienced some eyestrain due to the contrast between the brightness of the screen and the darkness of the room. To remedy this problem, starting with iOS 11, Apple has introduced the new "Invert Colors" feature.
This is a feature that allows you to adjust and customize the brightness of the screen for use in the dark. Basically through this feature the user can reverse the standard interface colors with some slightly darker ones, thus avoiding creating problems for the human eye. The "Invert Colors" function can be activated manually or set to work automatically. In the latter case, the system will use sensors to recognize poor lighting based on the context in which the user is located and will automatically activate the color inversion.
Why use this feature
In addition to nighttime or poorly lit spaces, the "Reverse Colors" feature can also help people with certain vision problems. It is a solution that can help those who suffer from slight color blindness. This feature decreases the strength of the blue tones on the screen. The same shades of blue that can cause problems of insomnia in users who use the smartphone just before going to sleep.
How to activate the function
To activate the function Invert colors just go to the settings of our iPhone, press on General and then on the Accessibility section. Here we scroll through the list of options and activate the check next to the item Invert Colors. Clicking on the feature will give us two options. Activate the standard inversion or the smart inversion. The second is the function that is activated automatically according to the context and the light in which we find ourselves. To deactivate the Invert Colors function, just uncheck On the corresponding section.
