Huawei Mate 50 could arrive out of time to become a desirable smartphone on the international market, also because perhaps it will be without 5G as Huawei P50.
That Huawei is still struggling in the production of its electronic devices, due to the American ban and the crisis of the chips, is now known a bit 'to all. It's not surprising, then, that sprout like mushrooms reports from everywhere that announce delays in the marketing of the new smartphones of the Chinese giant.
The last one, coming from a Chinese leaker active on the social Weibo, leaves little hope to the fans of the brand that are waiting for the launch of Huawei Mate 50, the next representative of the glorious Mate series and successor of the current Huawei Mate 40 launched in late October 2020 and that, to be honest, is still a smartphone that can compete in the market thanks to an excellent 6.7-inch screen and a rear camera module perhaps still undefeated in 2021. The Mate 50, as per Huawei tradition, will be derived from the P50 launched in China at the end of July and that, unfortunately, in Italy still has not been seen. But when will Huawei Mate 50 arrive? Late, indeed very late according to the leaker.
Huawei Mate 50 arrives next year
Yeah, according to this indiscretion Huawei Mate 50 will not arrive before 2022. But not in January, we are talking about the second quarter and that is April-June 2022.
How credible this leaker, unknown in the West, is difficult to determine. However, the basis for believing that there is a fund of truth is not lacking: Huawei has long been struggling to find not only chips but also other components for its devices and is now engaged in the "decoupling" of its chain of suppliers.
Huawei Mate 50 with Snapdragon chips?
In spite of this, however, Huawei could be forced to turn to Qualcomm for the supply of SoCs for the Mate 50. The thing has already happened with the P50, of which a version is produced with Snapdragon 888 that, however, is "castrated" of 5G.
Something similar could happen, or rather will almost certainly happen, for Mate 50 since the object of contention between the US and Huawei is always the technology to connect to 5G networks.
At this point, however, the question to be asked is very simple: who will ever be willing to buy outside China a smartphone worth over a thousand euros without 5G in mid-2022?
