The Nothing Ear 1 are official: they have a unique design combined with interesting features and a relatively cheap price
At the end of a period in which the company has tried to turn the spotlight of media and technology enthusiasts on itself, the presentation of Nothing Ear 1 has taken place. After all, Carl Pei, the founder of the startup, knows well how to attract attention thanks to his past at the helm of OnePlus, where for years the same technique was adopted to increase the hype about the products.
The first TWS earphones of the company are therefore official, and the Nothing Ear 1 offers, among other things, active noise cancellation and an aesthetic very attentive to details. The men of Nothing have taken care of every aspect, and the particularity of Ear 1 is clearly visible: many elements are transparent, such as different parts of the charging case and the earphones themselves. It's easy to tell from the first glance that this is a unique product of its kind, which of course you can like or dislike but certainly does not go unnoticed. Here's everything you need to know about the new Nothing Ear 1 transparent headphones.
Nothing Ear 1, the features
Each earphone weighs just 4.7 grams and like all other in-ear headphones the Nothing Ear 1 comes with silicone tips of different sizes to be adapted to different conformations of the earcups, thus listening to music or the voice of the other party in full comfort.
The 11.6-millimeter drivers are responsible for Nothing Ear 1's quality, and the three microphones included in each earpiece provide noise suppression to ensure that the wearer's voice reaches the other party without too much interference, and that what you hear in low-noise environments isn't disturbed by outside noise, such as city traffic, the sounds of a moving train, or the constant hum of an airplane cabin.
There's also a transparency mode, which lets some ambient noise pass through to the headphones. The Nothing Ear 1's controls rely on the touch surface on each earbud: two taps start or pause playback, three taps change tracks, and so on.
The Nothing Ear 1 gets up to 4 hours of battery life with ANC on and up to 6 hours with cancellation off. If you include the charging case in the count, you get up to 24 hours with ANC on and 34 hours without, but in any case, the quick charge protects you from any unforeseen eventualities: with 10 minutes of charging you get up to 8 hours of autonomy.
Taking advantage of the wireless charging that Nothing Ear 1 are equipped with, you get the complete recharge of the 570 mAh battery in two hours and a half, time that is reduced to just over 50 minutes by charging via cable. The earphones have Bluetooth version 5.2 and IPX4 certification, which protects them from sudden rains or drops of sweat when wearing them during physical activity.
Nothing Ear 1, price and availability
Nothing Ear 1 will be on sale for 99 euros from August 17, but those who want to anticipate the times can try to get their hands on one of the units sold on the Nothing portal on July 31 at 13 Italian: the company has made it known that stocks for this kind of presale will be very limited.
