The Taiwanese company has unveiled four models of the new Asus Zenfone 4: ranging from the Pro version to the one dedicated to Selfie
Asus forces four. After several months of waiting, the Taiwanese company has removed the veils to the new Zenfone 4 series. And it does so in style. Launching four new smartphones that will cover all price ranges. A choice, that of Asus, very interesting and already successfully tested in the past.
In addition to the Asus ZenFone 4, were also presented the ZenFone 4 Pro, the ZenFone 4 Selfie (also in the Pro version) and the ZenFone 4 Max (in two different versions that differ in screen size). Each device has its own features and target audience. The ZenFone 4 is a mid-range device with a premium design. The Pro version, on the other hand, is the true top of the range and mounts the Snapdragon 835 chipset and is characterized by being the first smartphone in the world to offer gigabit LTE and multi-gigabit 802.11ad Wi-Fi technologies. The Zenfone 4 Selfie, on the other hand, is the version dedicated to kids and features a dual front camera for perfect selfies every time. The Zenfone 4 Max, on the other hand, has a 5,000 mAh battery that ensures a battery life of more than two days.
The real highlight of the new Asus ZenFone 4 series is the photographic compartment. All four devices mount a dual camera in the rear or in theĀ front. The Taiwanese company has also made ad hoc technologies for each smartphone, in order to make the most of the photo sensors on the devices.
Technical features ZenFone 4
The features are not top of the range, but they are superior to many mid-range devices on the market and has a photo compartment of excellent level. The ZenFone 4 is the new smartphone "flagship" of the Taiwanese company and is ready to compete on equal terms with many devices in the same price range (499 euros). The smartphone mounts a Snapdragon 630 chipset supported by the Adreno 508 graphics accelerator, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The screen is 5.5 inches and has a resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels. The battery, on the other hand, has a power of 3300 mAh and thanks to the BootMaster technology, it charges 50% in just 36 minutes.
But the highlight of the ZenFone 4 is the photo compartment. At the back we find a dual camera with a 12-megapixel main sensor with a 1.8 focal aperture that ensures very bright photos even in low light situations. The second sensor, however, has a wide-angle lens with a viewing angle of 120 degrees that allows you to expand the field of 200% compared to normal. The front camera is 8 Megapixels with a focal aperture of 2.0. In addition, thanks to PixelMaster technology you will be able to choose from 12 different shooting modes.
Technical specifications ZenFone 4 Pro
At the four smartphones presented by Asus could not miss a top of the range. The ZenFone 4 Pro with Gigabit connectivity has some unique features. Thanks to the collaboration with Qualcomm, the ZenFone 4 Pro is the first smartphone in the world to offer gigabit LTE and multi-gigabit 802.11ad Wi-Fi technologies. In addition, it is the first to have three high-end Sony photo sensors. A choice, that made by Asus, which positions the ZenFone 4 Pro among the best cameraphones around. But the data sheet of the smartphone doesn't end here: the phone mounts the Snapdragon 835 chipset supported by the Adreno 540 graphics accelerator, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The screen is 5.5 inches with a resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels. The battery is 3600mAh and integrates BootMaster technology that allows you to recharge to have 50% battery life in just 32 minutes.
The photo compartment of the ZenFone 4 Pro features a dual rear camera with a 12 Megapixel main sensor with 1.7 focal aperture and a 16 Megapixel secondary sensor with 2x optical zoom and 10x total zoom. The front camera, on the other hand, is 8 Megapixels and has a 1.9 focal aperture. To improve the quality of the shots, the smartphone also integrates TriTech+ technology.
The ZenFone 4 Pro is priced at 899 euros.
Technical features ZenFone 4 Selfie and ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro
As you can guess from the name, the main feature of the ZenFone 4 Selfie is the front camera. Asus decided to integrate a dual camera with a wide-angle lens in the front of the smartphone to take selfies with a much wider viewing angle than normal (120 degrees). For this particular feature Asus has launched the word wefie, a crasis between we (us) and selfie.
Of this particular smartphone, the Taiwanese company has made two models: a version with mid-range features and one with slightly better technical specifications. The ZenFone 4 Selfie mounts a Snapdragon 430 chispet supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The screen is 5.5 inches with 1280 x720 resolution. The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro uses the Snapdragon 625 SoC supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The screen is still 5.5 inches but the resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Let's get back to the camera compartment. Again, Asus wanted to differentiate the two devices. The ZenFone 4 Selfie mounts a 20-megapixel main sensor on the front, while the Pro version has a 24-megapixel lens. The secondary sensor, in both cases, is a wide-angle lens with 120-degree viewing angle for taking wefie shots. The rear camera is 16 Megapixels.
The price of the ZenFone 4 Selfie is 299 euros, while the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro costs 399 euros.
Technical specifications ZenFone 4 Max
The latest smartphone to join the stable of ZenFone 4 is the Max. This is a device with entry-level features but with a truly remarkable battery: 4100mAh in the version with 5.2-inch screen and 5000mAh in the model with 5.5-inch display. The ZenFone 4 Max is not scorned even in terms of the photographic compartment, mounting in the rear a dual camera. It also integrates PixelMaster technology to get the best out of your shots and change the settings depending on the light conditions.
The ZenFone 4 Max has different technical features depending on the model. The version with the smaller screen mounts a Snapdragon 425 chipset supported by 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The model with the 5.5-inch display has a Snapdragon 430 chipset supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.
The ZenFona 4 Max with a 5.2-inch screen is priced at 229 euros, while the one with a 5.5'' display is available at 279 euros.
