At Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, it was one of the most photographed and talked about products. We are talking about the Energizer P18K, a smartphone with a built-in battery of 18000mAh and that guarantees a battery life of at least a couple of days. The device has created a lot of buzz, especially for its thickness: it has the size of a battery pack, the external batteries that we use to charge our smartphone when we are traveling.
At MWC 2019 Energizer had not communicated the price of the device nor its release date. And in these days it has been discovered why: the Energizer P18K is available on Indiegogo, a crowdfunding platform where usually startups go looking for funds to start producing their product. The smartphone has been put on sale at a price of $549 (current exchange rate 483 euros), a 21% discount from the list price of $699 (current exchange rate 615 euros). The company's goal is to raise $1.2 million. Shipments will start in October 2019.
Energizer P18K, data sheet
The Energizer P18K has not only made headlines for the super battery, but also for a respectable data sheet. On board the smartphone we find a Helio P70 chipset supported by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage with the possibility to expand it via microSD. The screen is 6.2 inches with a FullHD+ resolution and aspect ratio of 18:9. The design of the smartphone is very interesting: there is no notch or hole. The two front cameras are hidden inside the shell and emerge with a pop-up system when the Photo application is activated.
In total, the photo compartment consists of 5 cameras. In addition to the two front 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras, there are three rear cameras of 12 megapixels, 5 megapixels and 2 megapixels.
As mentioned above, the battery is 18.ooomAh, five times higher than the average smartphone on the market. Energizer ensures that the smartphone provides up to 100 hours of music playback and two days of video shooting. In standby, the battery has a range of about two months. In addition, the Energizer P18K can also be used to charge other electronic devices via the USB port.

The smartphone has been launched on Indiegogo for a fundraiser. The goal is to raise $1.2 million in 40 days. So far (March 21, 2019) the counter is stuck at 0. The launch price of the smartphone is $549, just under 500 euros. This price, however, is reserved only for the first 200 who buy the smartphone. The price will then rise to $599, about 525 euros. If the goal is reached, the Energizer P18K shipments will start in October 2019.
