For the 14 Huawei and Honor smartphones at the center of today's rumor, HarmonyOS would be coming. What if one day Huawei brings the update to Europe as well?
HarmonyOS has a very unenviable task, that of getting Huawei out of the quicksand of the diatribe with the US. Following the decision of the Trump administration that arrived in 2019 like a bolt from the blue, Huawei has no longer been able to dialogue with American companies, including Google.
So the Chinese company has had as its only chance to procure Android in the AOSP version, that is without the developments that Mountain View have given to the robot over the years, as well as the first of the apps and Google services. A real facade that of Huawei, which had to devise in a very short time a strategy to get out of the impasse. La risposta è arrivata da HarmonyOS, un sistema operativo che era già in sviluppo nel quartier generale dell’azienda sul quale è stato spinto il piede sull’acceleratore, in modo da renderlo prima possibile pronto all’impiego su larga scala. Due anni più tardi – lo scorso giugno – Huawei ha ufficializzato HarmonyOS, promettendo che entro fine 2021 avrebbe raggiunto una base installata pari a 300 milioni di dispositivi, 200 milioni dei quali sarebbero stati smartphone.
I 14 smartphone Huawei ed Honor con HarmonyOS beta
Obiettivo che a giudicare dalle mosse della società cinese sarebbe sempre più alla portata. Sembra infatti che Huawei stia progettando di portare HarmonyOS a bordo di altri 14 smartphone a marchio Huawei e Honor, i quali tuttavia – ed è l’aspetto curioso della vicenda – non sarebbero più giovanissimi.
Per il momento si tratta solamente di un’indiscrezione che se diventasse realtà coinvolgerebbe solamente le edizioni cinesi dei seguenti 14 smartphone:

E se HarmonyOS arrivasse anche in Europa?
Gran parte delle edizioni europee di questi smartphone Huawei e Honor sono stati ufficializzati prima delle restrizioni annunciate dagli USA per il gruppo Huawei, di conseguenza hanno mantenuto Android “a pieni poteri" e pure le app ed i servizi Google anche in seguito al ban USA.
Il supporto software però è finito praticamente per tutti, il che significa che in Europa questi prodotti non ricevono più aggiornamenti software, sebbene, è meglio ripeterlo, continuino ad avere Android con le app ed i servizi Google. It would be curious if at the end of the recruiting phase started in China for the release of HarmonyOS beta, when the new Huawei-branded operating system will arrive in stable version in the home market, the company would decide to put European users at a crossroads.
Keep Android with Google apps and services with no more updates, or give HarmonyOS a chance by losing Google apps and services but getting a brand new operating system maybe with a few months or even a few years of guaranteed software updates. It's still too early to tell, but it's good to come prepared for that hypothetical moment.
